the ram was ok. I was just mentioning that the motherboard wouldn't be able to use memory speeds higher than 2667. it will still work but it will be capped at a lower speed. to run 3000mhz you'd need the tomahawk or similar.
I am struggling to get past 2667 even with the Killer SLI X370

Yeah, that's likely down to the bios... it should eventually be fixed once Asrock puts a new one out sometime in May, no doubt. But the issue I was pointing out was that while support for 2667+ memory speeds down the line is assured for your board, the B350M from the screenshot isn't capable of going any higher than that.. which would limit the ram he had paired it with. that's why I recommended the tomahawk instead.

They have been working on it, I was locked into 2133 right at launch with slow improvements.

they've really been on the ball in that regard. the board I've been looking to get (Biostar X370GT5) hasn't been updated since last month so I'm hopeful they push that out soon.. cause from what I'm seeing you guys have had something like 5 updates in the time since then. Only reason I want that is cause it's roughly the same cost as a tomahawk and other b350 boards but support for it has been really awful.

Have you had any experience with BioStar recently? I had a board from them YEARS ago, but they were a bit slow with updates.

I am interested in that mITX because it seems like they are the only ones that are going to release one. My dream is to build a mini-beast, but could not wait. I even purchased an SFX PSU in order to get ready for the size reduction.

never used them before  just hoping their shyts are quality and don't ship out DOA. But if you used them years ago and they're still out here I guess they're doing something right. My last motherboard was a gigabyte but I sold that pc when I was broke. And I'm two thumbs up for that mini-beast idea.. great thing is that it's more possible than ever with how cool these ryzen cpus are running out here. some people are hitting 55-60 deg celsius even while overclocked on air. If that isn't crazy...

I had to replace the eeprom before on that board and they were really good about it. It was some odd board that supported amd + nvidia card on the same board without disabling physx.

Back in the days :mjcry:.
