This happened for 2 reasons:
1. The NBA hasn't wised up and gotten rid of positional voting altogether. Who cares if the fans vote in 5 guards or 5 centers? It's an All Star Game.
2. Stephen Curry plays in one of the most heavily populated areas in a state so big it should actually be it's own country. Meanwhile Westbrook plays in Oklahoma, where the population of the entire state is half that of The Bay Area, and not one city in the entire state has a million people in it.
If Westbrook was getting nightly triple doubles in a Knicks or Lakers jersey, he'd get more votes than Curry.
