Nope, calling one aspect about a game bush league, is exactly that and nothing else, its not essentially what you perceive, its exactly what I said. In this era and age of gaming, something like that shouldn't be ignored or not put into a game made by a company who is known to provide all options for players....they pretty much invented everything we're talking about, in FPS rpg's. Again, so you understand, no one called it trash, how you translate my post is your problem. And you're moving the goal posts, I never said it was a big deal for me, I never said it would stop me from playing and or enjoying the game, merely that its bush league to not have it, when they had it in their previous games, and many triple A games have done so as well, or we can pretend the ME and Witcher series don't exist.

Either way, you also might be one of those nerd weirdos, who call nerds, nerd weirdos...see thats why I stay away from ironic positions and or circular logic (you'll miss the pun there I'm sure). Next time you get triggered, asses my post correctly. Thanks.
Now your backing down from your original post about it being bush league status for omitting something as pointless and stupid as romance options in a video game. Romance in both the mass effect and witcher series were trash and embarrassing to watch for anyone who's ever been involved in a real relationship. shyt never has any bearing on the actual story and only exist to seemingly please weirdos with fantasies about virtual characters having sex with each other.

There never even any deep decisions making that goes into the "option" to romance someone in a video game, you choose "l like you" repeatedly until you get a awkward and badly animated sex scene between two video game characters who never mention a sexual relationship outside of that one cutscene. There has never been a game that was better because of the option to romance someone, take it out of mass effect and witcher and the games are still just as good as they were with them.

shyt serves no purpose other than pleasing weirdos that watch cartoon porn.

Not backing down, clarifying your poor interpretation of what I posted. Its still bush league, that hasn't changed, I already addressed the issue. You were triggered by my post and misunderstood it entirely. Also I take it you never played Fall Out New Vegas, creating a female can literally change how you go about the ending. Also the entire romance with Yen in Witcher 3 is intertwined with the story. If you haven't played the games, or haven't done the research, don't bother commenting on them. Also its a video game, it's job is to serve/please "weirdos with fantasies" about virtual characters doing anything. Its no more weirder than a grown man looking to get headshots and brag about it. Its all "weird", that's the point. Mortal Kombat, CoD and Witcher have clearly shown that we like murder and blood in our games...romance is no different...even if its slapstick like in Saints Row.

To you it serves no purpose...and that's fine, but its still an option that should be put into a game made by the same developers who put it in their games to begin with. A good developer finds a way to make it part of the system, ala garnering bonuses, unlocking different paths, etc. Again, games have already done this. There's an entire game based off of it; Catherine. If you haven't done the research, don't bother. We're discussing the option of putting it in a game. And yes, its still bush league if they don't.

Not having Romance options is kinda bush league, especially since games made 10 years ago had it. Dragon Age and Mass Effect are the GOAT of both romance options and story telling. Saying it shifts the focus is a lazy excuse.

romance in video games is wack :camby:

Gamers who clamour for that bullshyt :scust:

Says a lot about the average gamer.

Obsidian Entertainment's The Outer Worlds was announced last week during The Game Awards 2018. The RPG title is a spiritual successor to Obsidian’s own Fallout: New Vegas, created by the developers responsible for the original Fallout. In The Outer Worlds, your avatar awake from hibernation on a ship that was lost in transit to the furthest colony from Earth located at the edge of the galaxy.

In a recent interview with RPG Site, Megan Starks, the Senior Narrative Designer on the studio's new game, revealed some truly fascinating details on the upcoming journey into the unknown. According to Starks, the companion system known from Tyranny has changed, as Obsidian wants to "really emphasize that they have stakes that are important to them," Starks explained. "They'll ask you to help out on their quests and they'll speak out against you if they don't support what you're doing, we want their motivations and goals to always be at the center of their character." You can even recruit all of the game's companions, but some of them will have allegiances to specific factions.

Just like in Half-Life, the main hero (that you will personalize the way you like) is silent, as Obsidian tends "really stick to the foundation of our classic style RPGs here, and really want our players to be able to be whatever they want to be. We think players like to see their character in-game as an extension of themselves, and we didn't want to force a character, or even a voice, onto them."

According to the Senior Narrative Designer, The Outer Worlds has been in active development since at least April 2016, around when Leonard (Boyarsky [the Senior World Designer on Diablo III and the Art Director on the very first Fallout]) joined the team. As promised, the game also won't be featuring any microtransactions, but Obsidian is thinking about the game's potential post-launch support.

Obsidian Entertainment has confirmed that The Outer Worlds will be using Unreal Engine 4. Quite interestingly, The Outer Worlds will allow you to kill every single NPC in the game, including the scientist we've see in the game's announcement trailer. There will also be at least several endings of your journey, as Obsidian's The Outer Worlds will release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019.

THE OUTER WORLDS Has No Microtransactions And Has Been In Development Since April 2016

:russ: I knew you were gonna get sandbagged bag for this but I'm with you. I like the feature and imo it's a good way to snatch a female audience

I lowkey feel like DA:I would have bombed financially or not make as much if they announced no romance options.

The Outer Worlds release date appears then disappears on Steam | PC Gamer

The Outer Worlds, Obsidian's upcoming first-person RPG, could be launching as soon as August 6, if a release date that was quickly added and then removed from Steam is to be believed. An update to the game's Steam page included the release date, along with details on language support and more, though clearly someone hit the switch too early. The release date has since been replaced with 2019.

Obsidian has yet to comment on an official release date, but August 6 doesn't sound implausible. While the developer is known for sprawling RPGs like New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity, The Outer Worlds will be a bit leaner, clocking in at anywhere from 15 to 40 hours. It certainly doesn't sound like a small game, but it will be one of Obsidian's shortest.

While a game's length doesn't necessarily determine how long it takes to create, the shift from sandboxes to a tightly controlled world is bound to save Obsidian some time and, according to co-director Leonard Boyarsky, is a more realistic goal for a team of this size with the budget it has. Tyranny was similarly more focused and popped up very quickly, though it was also an isometric RPG that had the benefit of Pillars of Eternity, in particular its modified Unity engine, as a foundation.

Restraint is the opposite of what we usually get in RPGs these days, which seem to forget that we're merely mortal and our time on this plane is fleeting. Potentially being able to finish it up in a weekend or two is one of its biggest selling points for me. My life is spent endlessly gathering RPGs, knowing the only way I'll ever make a dent in the list is nobody releases a new game for the next few years.

While the release date is gone for now, SteamDB has saved the changes for posterity. Its brief appearance doesn't guarantee an August 6 launch, but it's a good indicator. In the meantime, here's everything we know about The Outer Worlds.
