so just finished the game.

i'll be honest, the game left me wanting for more. The story should have been expanded and fleshed out, the beginning could have been expanded, and for sure the ending was way too abrubt.

I honestly didn't get bothered by the cutscene, they aren't like MGS4 cutscenes that's for sure and that was the main thing i was worried about before going into this game. With how reviewers were scoring the game, i thought it would be endless hours of cutscene followed by 5 min of gamplay and much to my surprise, it wasn't like that all.

I must say the game was very well done, there were times where the game dipped in frame rate and some weird glitch happened from stoping to continuing in some areas, but the production rivals that of a hollywood blockbuster.

Gameplay is your typical shooter, you fight your way out. I didn't get bothered by it either. They could have given you more options but not sure why they didn't. The alternative guns (grenades, smoke bombs etc) were useless and in most cases non-existent. I also wish they give you the option to stealth your way rather than the standard fight your way out. I also was not impressed by the endless waves of enemies. Especially in chapter 15, it really got frustrating and again they could have done so much better.

I honestly think the director of this game should be responsible for the major flaws of this game. His way of storytelling and the lack of depth going into the characters are apparent through the game. Not once did i care or wanted to care about the order or the characters that follow you on your journey. I also didn't care when
sir perceval died
and also you could see the twist coming a mile away. The dialogue wasn't too impressive either. If they were going for a cinematic push, then these areas leave way too much to be desired.

The game was definitely average, and the production is where it shines the most. It had me feeling like playing UC2 for the first time. Great excitement, adventure and all around fun. Although the critics were harsh at reviewing the game, i'm not surprised why it got that low of a score. If i was a critic, my score would have been the same. As a gamer though and purely from a fun perspective, the game is 75-80. It has enough action/fun to make you want a sequel and i think a new director would certainly push the game into uncharter/last of us territory.

My score. 7.8/10. It is worth finishing once and maybe even twice just to see what you missed.

Thread is already bigger than any xbox one game thread :wow:

Meach got more posts in here than the sunset overdrive thread has total posts :wow:
Damn, now that you mention it that's true. Mostly every big PS4 game that comes out ends up having way more threads or posts in a single thread in it compared to an Xbox 1 title. Most XB1 titles simply don't get that much attention.

You really splitting hairs over a .5 differnce on metacritic then calling other people fanboys?

:mjlol:
One game has a lower score for both scores than the other. Highest score better lower score worse. From there you can spin it how you wanna spin it but the numbers don't back you up nor do they lie.

Your basically arguing that one game is slightly less shytty then the other.:mjlol:

There's no spin for me to put on it. I never said ryse was the better game I said they are comparable because their strengths and missteps are similar.

mechanically this game is what heavy rain wanted to be. suffice to say i think the reviews got this one wrong. especially if they praised heavy rain

you really have to be looking for something wrong to leverage some of the criticisms ive seen

are they mad at ready at dawn?

You obviously have not played heavy rain if you think its anything like The Order:stopitslime:

Exactly. The same clowns that ripped Ryse to shreds, despite the AMAZING visuals and admittedly boring gameplay will somehow find a way to love this game. If you love this game but hated Ryse, your a fukking hypocrite, especially since Ryse actually had a fun multiplayer.
this game is not comarable to ryse
besides oversimplifying based on criticisms, the 2 games have absolutely nothing in common
