Although the full game may not be available until several months after launch, Xbox One early adopters will still have the opportunity to get a taste of Kinect Sports Rivals thanks to a free trial of the game set to be launched alongside the console in November.
Microsoft today announced Kinect Sports Rival Preseason, effectively a a free trial of the wake racing mode in Kinect Sports Rivals. It will be playable from November 22 through March 2014 and includes split-screen multiplayer support for two players.
Launching alongside the trial is the Kinect Sports Rivals Hub, through which players will be able to track progress in monthly challenges which will come in solo, cooperative, and country vs. country varieties. These challenges will provide rewards that carry over into the full game.
By downloading the trial between November 22 and November 30, players will be able to earn points toward unlocking a "Founder" player title, an exclusive Rivals wetsuit, and a Rivals wake racer.
Kinect Sports Rivals was originally planned as an Xbox One launch title before being delayed until spring 2014. IGN got to play the game in August and found it was both fun and a demonstration that the new version of Kinect does really work.
