Messi makes that Barcelona squad almost unbeatable. Dude is almost Maradona status. They fell off a bit this year, but that's after 3 years of total domination.

That team had a lot of individual talent, but didn't play as cohesively as this Spain squad. If you want to look at collection of talent, that Brazil squad is godly, but something about the way this Spain team controls and dominates the game is something else.

maybe it's me but I think overall national teams have been mediocre and/or inconsistent (except for Spain) for a long time. Seeing Portugal take them to penalties also makes me think about their "greatness". I also don't find soccer as inspiring overall in national games as before or maybe I'm just getting
