However, I'm finding a lot of vacancies in apartments across town tho and tons of buildings offering discounted rent:jbhmm:

yeah people are moving back home or further away. If you don't have to go to work downtown why would you continue paying such high rent. While some people love downtown many people just lived downtown because it was close to work.

Never been cheaper to borrow money. You can find rates sub 1%

Sauga is booming. Sales in a day/two. >Milly for shytty detached

And it's only Feb :damn:

yeah I've seen it in my neighborhood houses listed for like 1.2 but they sell for 1.6 :dahell:
Like how are these people getting the money even with 10% down thats like 150-160k and you're still stuck with a mortage over a mill :picard:

foreign investment aka money laundering in the local housing market is the reason for this.

It's not this bad anywhere else. Example nyc you can find cheap affordable properties (200-350k) like 45-50 min away same with san francisco etc.

Here in toronto nope even places like hamilton you're looking at 6-800k, barrie same thing.

that old only buy a house 3 times what you make :mjlol:

I'm 35 and I remember in 2003 when I was 18 and my parents were buying a house in thornhill and my dad was upset because my mom wanted a house that was 319,000 :mjlol:, I also remember brand new condos at that time going for 119,000 :mjlol:

I also remember even as soon as 2015 brand new condos you could rent for 1,200. I also remember even in 2018 you could buy a condo in the low 300s

This is not sustainable, one of my close friends was looking to buy a condo they make over 100k and were approved for a mortgage of 440k.

Meh I haven’t got a red cent from the government for all the stress I’ve gone through since March. No pandemic pay, nothing.

I’ll take this 500 dollar tax credit they are offering for work at home and buy some ethereum

If your employer will sign it, you are much better off submitting a t220a. Let's say a 1/3 of your phone and internet and 500sq feet for an office, plus a couple hundred for office expenses. You will be way over 500. Part me thinks this 500 dollar credit they are offering is so more people don't use the t220a.
