Where the fukk is the testing? We are being let down by our government. Let me keep my damn taxes and fend for myself then.
Nobody was prepared for this. Few people in the world were prepared for this. You’d need tens of millions of test kits worldwide to keep up with demand. I’m not making excuses for the govt but I think I’d have to assume that if it was feasible to test more people then we would be testing more people since we know that’s integral in flattening the curve sooner.

We're not testing

.
The number of COVID-19 tests completed in Ontario each day has dwindled steadily over the past week, raising concerns that the province is missing cases of the illness and failing to capture the true spread of the novel coronavirus.

Data from the Ministry of Health shows there were just 2,568 new test results provided on Tuesday. That's roughly half the daily target of 5,000 that the government promised to achieve in late March, and far short of the 19,000 tests per day promised for the third week of April.

The slower-than-promised pace continued Wednesday, with Ontario announcing 3,237 new test results.

Word but my question is why aren’t we testing? I’d like to believe that our government hasn’t simply decided less testing is needed and would instead assume that we are testing less because we are trying to conserve supplies for the long haul. Essentially, my assumption is that they are looking at projections that likely show we are using supplies faster than we can get them and that we need to save those tests for the folks who are more likely to need them (based on how they define need).

All speculation on my part but based on the work that I do, and who I’m plugged in with, that’s my assumption.

Speaking of which, a friend who works at City Hall (pretty high up in the ranks) says that they’ve been told to expect normal life to resume in July. Take it for what it’s worth.

Good luck... not every business deals directly with the public and can work secretly without most people knowing.

Mostly in the specialized manufacturing sector. To keep it a buck, the street where I work (industrial area in Sauga) seemed to have every parking lot full of employee cars today. (Today Mark's the end of the initial 2 week ban)
