No where in the world are teachers as greatly compensated as in Canada

As they should be

Teachers shouldn’t get paid shyt salaries for the amount of work they do and the shyt they deal with on a day to day basis. The job is wayyyy more than just standing up in front of a classroom bruh

The last thing the government should ever be attacking is education and healthcare yet it’s always where they go first

On average teachers make 83,000
More than nurses
And on the average same as lawyers

How is the government attacking teachers?

increasing class sizes by 4 students and 2 e learning courses and cap like all other public sector employees at 1 percent raise

I just looked this up - our elementary school teachers are the 7th highest, high school teachers don't even crack the top 10

The best and worst countries to be a teacher, based on salary

Either way, proper investment in education is to the benefit of the country as a whole and properly compensating the folks who have a large part in shaping our kids future is key to this.

If lower taxes means comprising education and health care then no thanks.

But if it's higher taxes in service of a better quality of life like in the Nordic states then I'm all for it.

Yes I would prefer higher taxes - those taxes can be levied by our incompetent government applying those to the mega rich corporations in banking, real estate and other service sectors but why isn’t that happening? Because our politicians are bought and paid for. So they attack education and healthcare as a way to cut taxes

As a poor bruh who grew up in Scarborough in violent neighborhoods and went to shyt schools, luckily, I still had some teachers who cared. Education is why I’m damn near a 6 cert nikka and escaped the cycle. I know it’s some shyt teachers who go through the motions and don’t deserve the raise but I’ll always ride for teachers and their contributions to society.

Who's to blame when Toronto city workers go on strike?

Are they entitled too?
