Nothing is wrong with those jobs or any jobs. But for the brehs who are in finance, high level sales, managerial positions that pay over 100k, you want to date a girl whose at least close to that and has the same type of ambition and drive. How many single females even have they’re own property here? Far too many are single moms living a struggle working dead end jobs waiting for a breh on top of his shyt to save em.

I don’t think you can blame anyone for not owning property in the current real estate market that is Toronto. At this point it is fast becoming mandatory for dual incomes couples to put down money to purchase a home.

I see the types you mention but I also see plenty of professional women who are ambitious as well. I don’t understand what these two groups don’t cross paths. Also, some professional men don’t always want the type A/career driven personality as well.

I hear where you are coming from, I just wish our black young professional women group was as connected and making strides I see Indians and Asians making. Looking around at people I went to hs with majority aren’t doing much these days compared to the middle eastern and other races we grew up with. Sad to say the least, but we can change it.

On the other hand I work for a hospital network and see many black nurses prob making 60-100k a year but their attitudes are rotten

The black race is lost in Toronto folks living in metro housing for decades.

You ever been to a jays game? All the menial workers are black folks in their 20,30,40,50

You ever take the bus early on a Saturday morning? It’s filled with black people going to work a menial job. I do Uber early sat and Sunday :mjpls: and 95 percent of my pickups are black folks going to work at warehouses etc .

OMG I noticed this as well.

Retail/ other service positions are filled with black people. However, as you go up the corporate ladder there are less and less black people. Kind of random but, I feel like the surge of tech companies coming from Cali opening up positions-- they are only hiring East and South Asians along with Middle easterners and of course white people. Black people are largely excluded from this. I was reading an article about the black unemployment rate in California and it reminded me of the job market here in Toronto. I don't really have statistics to back this up per se. Just my own observations. :yeshrug:

It’s sad but true, I’m the only black guy in my dealership that’s not cleaning or a tech, our controller is a black as well which is a win. When they make me a manager later this year , I believe in the last 4 years I would be the only one I have seen. I’m only 29 so it’s hard to find peers who are in careers and not in menial jobs. It puts you in a rut working menial jobs, you end up living for partying and bullshyt, while not focusing on important things such as down payments and assets.

in terms of good paying jobs its only in places like hospitals and ttcs where you see a decent amount of blacks. I sense most of us here have a decent job in this city how many other black people are in your department or when you walk around the building? Can probably count the number on your two hands. Go to eaton centre at lunch and there are thousands an thousands of professionals who congregate to the mall and food court, many times i just see like ten-20 black folks

Oh and yeah definitely, even the "express entry" to fill baby boomer spots take a look at the stats its mainly indians and chinese, the only blacks coming through are the highly educated ones who would be accepted in any country. All these indians and chinese and white they hire their own. I'm finishing up my data science certificate at u of t I've been the only black dude in all 3 courses so far

racism in canada isn't the nygger to your face or noose or burning cross, its subtle and behind close doors

The new ceo at my hospital he replaced all teh vps with his old vps from his old hospital no one says nothing (all white of course)

my brother in law was a manager at a hospital i won't name, he hired a black dude and someone reported him to hr

my breh :salute: manager :salute:

And I know what you mean, and you know what the sad thing is? Many of our fellow black men and women working these menial jobs are educated it's not like they are hs dropouts.

This has been my experience as well. Most if not all of my black peers work retail/ service work. But there are not that many Asian/south Asian in our position tho. They exist but its just not as frequent :francis:

I have especially noticed this in the tech/finance industry. I know many black ppl with a degree in accounting/commerce etc that are struggling to find a job. Meanwhile, our non black counterparts are getting positions/are recruited before they even receive their degree.

There is something else at play here. :sas1:

Thanks breh this automotive industry is something else big money in it, especially domestic brands. Sales is a field I don’t know why more brehs don’t get into it’s a Hussle and u have tons of freedom. Plus you don’t need a degree.

It’s the same in the states where a white hs graduate makes more than a black man with a degree

I was working a dead end job for a good 7 years out of school, applied for tons and tons of jobs nothing. Thank God for miracles that I was able to get into the health sector

This is why I keep saying the issue has to be pushed/placed shame upon.

Some white or filipino chick that make $60k is gonna see a breh like this and put pressure on him to link up.
A black women (good looking w/ no kids) is gonna see him and not want to make eye contact, but will get with an average white guy or some hood dude.
