I am pro union and pro labour but I think they’ll come to heavily regret playing politics with opening schools.

Just take a look at status quo across the world and you’ll notice country after country has kept schools open entire pandemic, without doing anything like what unions are asking for, and teachers didn’t die or get hospitalized en-masse.

In extremely pro-union Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden, Denmark) schools never closed, face masks optional, and kids and teachers are doing fine.

At end of the day, this will backfire on them in Ontario, sooner or later.

Why pick Florida out of a hat? Far more people have died from COVID in the United States in than Canada and that has nothing to do with open schools. It has to do with overall health of Americans and more recently their lower vaccination rates.

Schools never closed in vast majority of the EU and they also have lower death rates than Florida, if you want to use that logic.

More importantly, how many teachers have ended up in hospital in Ontario itself? Students? The numbers are minuscule and will remain so with vaccines.

Nothing in my post was rambling. If you want to dispute it, bring facts, but relax with the insults you look clownish.

:mjlol: Im sure this will only last 21 days.

Ontario announced sweeping new restrictions that will see schools closed to in-person learning until at least Jan. 17, a ban on indoor dining, gyms shuttered and capacity limits put in place for retail as COVID-19 cases soar in the province.

The new restrictions, which also includes slashing gathering limits to five people indoors and to 10 people outdoors, come into place on Jan. 5 and will be in place for 21 days, the government announced Monday.
