$300K will get you a nice 4bdrm, 10 minute drive from downtown. Food is dirt cheap, gas cheap, groceries are cheap.
@Malcolmxxx_23 drove down to Charleston, SC about three hours down interstate. Beautiful place, right by Atlantic Ocean.

Thats the thing that really stinks about this city you can buy somewhat affordable housing outside the city but theres no transportation in and out....not having a subway line even to the airport is embarrasing for a city this big....we should have a network that connects London,Kingston,Niagara Falls...not no fukkn Go buses
We are still in the 80s in terms of mass transit...

Via Rail is a sight seeing tour between Windsor and Quebec...its not for transportation in the GTA.

ONTARIO as a province is bigger land wise than spain , france etc.
Even Toronto and areas just under a hour away there is still so much land that could be developed. Government could easily build their own affordable housing
But we have free healthcare and low crime

Technically you're still paying for that "free healthcare" through your high taxes. Imagine if you are healthy person and you only used the healthcare system as you need it, paying for yourself? The amount that you paid taxes through "free healthcare" you could have saved major $$$ too.
