t-dot till they bury me
The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is now 21 per cent higher than it was when Ontario entered a provincewide lockdown in December

:mindblown: what was the point of lockdown?

Issue is simple. Vaccines. Where are they?
Heard that Toronto had like 30000 spots for vaccines that they couldn't fill :what:
Open up eligibility then.

People were not going to follow the stay at home order.
Restrictions easing.
Schools are open.

Now with the weather turning nice? 18 degrees today :blessed: Good luck, everybody will be out.

The problem with fulfilling vaccines is this. The booking system SUCKS. You're asking 70+ crowd to use an online booking system and a hotline that kicks you off if you can't get on a waitlist. My parents are in their 60s and can barely figure out how to use their phones. Now you're asking seniors to book online, call a hotline that they can't get through and go to places that they may not be able to get to on their own. And in some cases, print out supporting documentation. If someone in this 70+ group has no support, they're not going to book an appointment.

Plus, you have areas with a bunch of clinics near by - but in some places, the nearest mass vaccination clinic is like 45 mins away. And for the AZ vaccines, almost none of the pharmacies in the hotspots like J+F or Rexdale got any supply but you go a little east of Steeles, there's a billion Shoppers, No Frills and Rexall pharmacies with supply of the AZ vaccines.

Also, we've said it before and I'll say it again. Yes, schools should be safely reopened but it's no coincidence that the case count almost doubled once they reopened schools and crammed all these kids into tiny classrooms with poor PPE for teachers and staff again. You have rapid testing at the airport, but you can't do it at schools and warehouses where there's the most outbreaks?

They learned NOTHING from these past year. They just open whenever they want and never readjust their plans

@jdubnyce Here's another thing: some of the people they hired at these clinics still haven't been told about the eligibility criteria. I just spoke to a nurse who had no idea that people over 50+ with comorbidities and disabilities were eligible in Scarborough and this person works at the damn vaccination clinic, she just spoke to a bunch of nurses about it and they had no idea either. :francis:

Unfortunately it's all in the hands of the government now. It's up to them to get these vaccinations out. That's all they can really do at this point. lockdowns failed

It's over. Now only people 55-65 can take it, and why would they want to take it after the government banned it for younger people? AZ's trials and messaging has been awful

Hopefully things change when J&J production ramps up and Novavax is approved in May

It is infuriating that this country can never get things done on its own. We're still behind Bangladesh in terms of vaccines administered, and now Cuba's got multiple vaccine candidates.

Meanwhile this country will take a year and a half to build a plant and then they'll be able to mass produce on their own:hhh:
