agree....that gay shyt just wasn't needed at all. was actually extremely corny. other than that it was a really good flick....but the connection between him and rosario just came off so forced. one day together and they're in love. and it wasn't even a good day. dude found out this chic lied to his face and went out of her way to destroy his reputation for years. but somehow he feels like she'd a better choice than gabrielle union's no talent havin ass. if he was smart he woulda tossed both them grimy ass bytches in the bushes. how the fukk could you trust anything that came out that bytches mouth after that .....still a really good movie....the apartment scene with rock going back and forth with his fam was classic....wish we coulda had more scenes like that...that's rock at his best. The gay twist was way too obvious the way it was written. And the tampon joke was too much white humor. The comedy just needed more of that cruel Chris Rock joke. Like the Amy Winehouse, Kennedy, Nick Cannon jokes.

that's my point. how could he trust anything about that chic when he just caught her lying to his face. the chic was trying to ruin his career for years and now she's the one??.....and it's not like she came clean, he found out by a text message. "oh I was just trying to find the perfect time to tell you"....right out of the thot handbook. the entire day was irrelevant at that point...don't matter how cool or down to earth she portrayed herself to be. who knows what else that bytch is capable of. but at the end of the day, dude was about to marry a chic who was using him to keep her career alive, so maybe his character was just written to be a simp ......but like I said...it was a really good movie...a lot of great scenes...but did have a few missteps. I still think chris has a masterpiece in him.He found someone he could be completely honest with and be himself.

i'm sorry, I just didn't buy it. that shyt was just a weird twist. and I know i'm over analyzing a movie that really isn't supposed to be taken that serious, but still....I felt like it could have been executed better. it's great that she helped him see he could be funny without the alcohol, but doesn't change the fact that she's most likely bat shyt crazy. but yea...I understand it's a "romantic comedy" and there's really no point arguing about this......really good movie for what it was. It's a romantic comedy breh. If you really can't suspend your disbelief or get with the idea that the characters are often complicated and nothing is as simple as "how can I believe a journalists who used a fake pen name" then the entire genre doesn't work for you. It's journalism man, she had a fake pen name and trashed him with it when in reality she was a fan and the reason she was trashing him is because she felt disappointed as a fan. Her reviews of his movies were akin to Jay's Nas verse on Takeover. Jay was a fan and he attacked Nas as a fan. She's also the same chick who got him to realize he could be funny without alcohol and encouraged him and pushed him to see that. I don't think that's a simp, I think that's a real person. He's not some dude stunting on a message board or stunting for his friends on the block; he's a damn near 50 year old man suffering from alcohol problems, emotional problems, and having an identity crisis. He's trying to make sense of his world and his life just like she is and they both found each other. :whoknows:

i'm not talking about simply using a fake name. i'm talking about the fact that she was being this kind sweet woman knowing damn well she was gonna destroy him all over again the very next day. and then when she gets caught she's gonna say it's a "character"....a character that people "love"....and she says it trying to look disappointed in herself. the movie just painted her as a woman with no integrity. it doesn't come off like you say...that she was just a disappointed fan. if that was the case she would've owned up to those opinions instead of being a coward and hiding behind this character she created. she made up this character to attract an audience and kept going with this character to keep that audience. so she has no backbone. from that point, there was no redeeming quality about the bytch. I was just rooting for chris to get as far away from her as possible. but obviously, we all knew that wouldn't happen because you could see the ending coming from the very beginning. i'm just sayin....if you wanna make me fall for this love story don't make me dislike the female lead. if it worked for you, that's great. it just didn't for me. that's my opinion on the shyt and it's not gonna change. doesn't take away from all the other great qualities of the filmBreh you're not bat shyt crazy for using a pen name in journalism and trying to keep it secret. That's the game man. You'd be surprised how many journalists do that or have had to do it in their careers. It's pretty common for them to write under pen names for one publication and use their real name in another publication and for the sake of the profession, you keep it secret. Not just journalists but writers of all kinds use pseudonyms. That's not crazy to me, that's just her doing what you gotta do sometimes

toucheI feel the last part you said. I'd argue that neither one of them are angels though and they both had their problems which is why they were both in programs. Which is something else I liked. Normally in those type of movies, one person is stable and the other person is the fukk up but in this one, they're both fukk ups, obviously to different degrees but they're both wrecks trying to get their lives together. I feel like Chris' character wasn't in any position to judge. He had no backbone either which is why he was scared to be funny again and scared to cancel a wedding with a woman he clearly didn't love
And as far as her being crazy and what she was going to do with the article, we're just going to have agree to disagree because that's not how I saw it
