I didnt agree with Scorcese's criticism of the MCU...until phase 4. Seems they're embracing it now.

i think its the lineup of productions thats fukkin them up. 2021 was a dope ass year for Marvel tbh but most shyt theyve put out this year has been mid or complete garbage

That whole first half felt like a play, and a parody of itself. The camera angles didn’t help. Take a pick at Meet the Spartans, Disaster Movie, Epic Movie, etc. - it had the vibe of those films, and the humor didn’t land for me most times. Legit was looking around the theater wondering what I was missing. It felt like an extension of the mock play with Matt Damon, lol.

Kinda weird seeing Gorr act serious on one occasion, only to flip it and be a jokester the next minute. Probably wouldn’t have felt as jarring if they managed to give him more screentime and flesh his character out more. Dude was on his Col. Kurtz shyt with the repulsion and I wish we had more creepy moments like the sequence in New Asgard.

Very true with what you said about Gorr. Put that more on the script and Taika direction.

Yeah, the CGI in this was pretty disappointing. Might be the worst in an MCU film. At least it's not on Black Panther no more.

Shang Chi was okay at best.
I get that people liked the first few shows (why, I have no idea), but those were cheap looking, too, aside from FAWS.

That latest trailer they dropped for She-Hulk was egregious. Feels like MCU shows are diluting the brand.

I think black widow was the best so far tbh

but the issue is mainly writing and direction. the cgi hasnt really been bad in most shows or films (NWH and Loki had a shyt tonne) its the stories pretty much being a saturday morning cartoon

Shang Chi was the best flick last year IMO. But because i felt it was an actually good movie. In the context of MCU i felt it literally added nothing.

Eternals was ass to me. Black Widow was solid.
