Meh. Not worse than The Dark World but I expected more. Double Toasted wasn't lying, The Guardians dropped Thor azz off and bounced LOL. I love the goats :russ: I would've preferred the alien OG Gorr.

Can't wait for folks to complain about the Valkyrie and Korg scene.

comic book breh/ettes, what significance does Hercules have in Marvel? Is he considered an antagonist?

Just watched it.
Nice movie, they went OD on the Humor, so the plot and villain aren't that strong.
Better than most post-Endgame MCU.
The Goats were funny as fukk.
Thor also finally got a good evolution at the end.
I'm glad the agenda didn't win and replace Thor permanently.

Thought it was just okay. I’m getting kinda tired of saying that during Phase 4.

Maybe it’s just Taika Waititi’s writing, but I was struggling heavily during the first half. The humor bits, which were very hit or miss to me, felt so exhausting during the beginning. It ended up rounding itself out mid-way through by allowing the emotional moments to breathe. May be a while before I ever rewatch the movie, but it wasn’t as bad as some reviewers were saying.

The last time I saw Kat Dennings in an MCU property was during the onset of a pandemic and…..it looked like she put on quite the pandemic weight here. :flabbynsick::huhldup:

this was fine
about 25% too much humor

not enough god killing. Bale killed one on screen and the others were already dead and the aftermath was sort of viewed on the Guardians TV screen in their ship. No montage of Gorr killing all those gods in Moon Knight or even Zeus in that arena you see in the trailer
Bale was great but underused and even he was cracking jokes.
Russell Crowe was great until he started his stand-up act. He actually pranced down the steps and did a dance before confronting Thor.
Instead of a action scene with Gorr attacking Zeus and all the gods in that arena all you get is Thor fighting Zeus's guards. It was really just a side quest to get a weapon for Valkyrie, Zeus's Thunderbolt which also can teleport you anyplace in the universe like the axe:ehh:

I'm not sure why the goats are getting all this love. all they did was scream. After the 4th time I was:childplease:

Knowing there's a cool comic book run about Jane as Mighty Thor, this was really rushed but Portman probably only came back because they said they were going to kill her:pachaha:
A Mighty Thor D+ series would have been great I think.

There was Easter eggs about The Eternals/Celestials and no one in my theater cared or even noticed. I wonder what other folks saw or heard in their theater when it pops up.

So with all the backlash Lightyear got about their 2 second lesbian kiss I see why Marvel didn't advertise anything LGBTQ+ about this movie but there's way more of that in this movie. We knew Valkyrie was gay but she reminds Thor that she's on the same team as him and flirts with one of Zeus's girls but that's not the best part. Thor's sidekick Korg, the rock guy, sings a song that details how in his species 2 dudes meet to procreate and talks about his 2 dads. Then at the end he's about to do the same with another rock guy:russ:

Other than Hercules now being the MCU, I don't see how he's a threat to Thor but cool

Yeah, Bale was a definite highlight in this as Gorr. Very menacing, and the gravitas he had in each scene stole the show for me. They landed a gem with that casting.

Hate seeing great performances affected by shortened screentime though. Him and Ethan Hawke in their respective films recently have fell victim to this, which is a shame.
