I'm coming out of "lurker" mode just to say this:
Did anyone notice that the Captain referred to Algernon as "our boy" when he was talking to the maid in the Dining room scene? Then she called him "our Algernon" when she replied to him? It hit me a minute later, and I had to rewind the scene.

That was a hell of an episode . It was curious to see an episode that started out with so much violence and hatred ended with Nurse Elkins positively giddy after getting her cherry popped by Cocaine Thack . When she said my roommate isn't back yet, you knew it was going down . Algie as Cornelia would say got him some too after a hard day at the office .

Back to the beginning of the episode, somebody needs to GIF the scene where the racist doc came back and saw Algernon and Thack working together and did the double take, his face was priceless

The funniest part of the episode though was when scheming dude found out about his whore being in trouble and rushed down to the whorehouse on his , only to have to climb in through the window and see his girl taking backshots then go sit outside the room .


Agree those scenes with the black people getting attacked were hard to watch, props to the show for not shying away from the harsh racism that took place back then. Also props for the show having such creative camera angles, the shot where the camera was fixed on Algernon while he was hiding underneath the gurney and it looked like something might go down for a minute was dope.

I've come to realize this is probably one of the greatest television series I've ever seen. Like this legitimately might end up in my Top 3 if it keeps up like this.

Those race riots, man... People ain't shyt, brehs. I had to double check after the episode if the creators/writers of this show really aren't black because of how the race issues are the biggest theme of the show after the evolution of medical science and on top of that it's none of that apologetic P.C. nonsense. Algernon laid out that guy that attacked him in the hospital with the quickness. That's my new GOAT black character on tv.

I loved how both the Algernon/Cordelia and Thackery/Lucy scenes played out. The first was a release of all the romantic tension that had been with them since childhood, the latter a nice showcase of Thackery's softer side as he let Lucy really decide whether she wanted him or not. He gave her every opportunity to let him leave and she invited him. That morning after scene with her in that daze and then getting giddy when she fully realizes what had happened was pitch perfect.

I'm watching breh but I normally don't catch them until Saturday afternoon. Which is what I'm about to do right now
