A one handed backhand gives the player WAY MORE agility when hitting the ball. It allows you to hit angles to throw your opponent off. You can hit winners on angles without that much physical movement

With a two handed backhand, you have to use alot more foot speed just to hit a winner. And apply alot more strength. Which is why two handed backhanders like Djokovic, Nadal, and Murray always look like they running endless laps on the court, to make up for their lack of angles on their shots

i generally agree..my strength comment was specifically regarding juniors (not skilled teens but 4-8 year olds)..a lot of them just cant muster the strength to hit one hand with that motion and parents want quick results :yeshrug:

In the Open Era, yup only 4. There were a couple of other brehs prior to 68 but it doesn't really matter considering their competition at the time.
