:what: he won Indian Wells this year

I think I get what you're saying, he'll probably be average for the remaining of his career on hard courts once the American HC swing comes around

What I mean is, is that I believe he'll try to manage what tournaments he takes part in or not and will limit the amount of tournaments he enters in order to preserve his knees. But in terms of him being a threat to win a title at every major year in year out

nah :skip:, dem days is over

:umad:

We need him to win Wimbledon jsut so they can stop talkin about Fred 'fukkin' Perry. I know England are never goin to win the World Cup in my lifetime but I want to see a Brit win Wimbledon.

breh :usure: you don't think it'll be worse if he does win?

just the thought of the hyperbole has me :bryan:

also, he doesn't even fukk with england like that so I could never get behind him on gp. he only started 'embracing' the brit stuff once his pr team told him it was a good look for him money wise

I think his level threat of being a top contenders at slams is at the French, then Australian Open, US Open, then Wimbledon. I agree with cha, he brought ALOT of this on himself by overplaying himself year after year after year but then being mad about scheduling while also playing useless exhibition matches. He's my favorite player, but he's brought these knee injuries on himself :manny:

Being reminded of shyt that happened over 70 years ago is  its bad enough with the football team and thats 45 odd years. I live in the NOW, so I want wins now.

I thought the England jibe was more a tongue n cheek joke about the football after the interviewer said to him about supporting Scotland in the World Cup when they obviously werent there and that joke took a life of its own.

Is it any different from Strachan sayin

Reporter: "Gordon, do you think James Beattie deserves to be in the England squad?"

Strachan: "I don't care, I'm Scottish."

I remember when Jeremy Bates, Andrew Castle and others were our hopes for Wimbledon :pachaha: :sadbron: fukk that, I want England/Britain to win in every sport they take part in. :yeshrug: Maybe its because I got the British Lions blud running wild in my veins.

I watched bits and pieces of it, but due to the late start of the game, it overlapped with the England/Iraq game :dead: & Spain/Nigeria and I knew once England failed to stick the knife in, when they had India 67/5 I knew they were goin to lose. I'm not surprised they choked either, its what they do in ODI cricket since the very 1st World Cup.

That's the craziest thing about that.
Dude has a way of playing tennis that demands a physique at 100% and to be absolutely hard on his own body (that defense, those runs, those rallies, the intensity he has, the overall stress) yet he plays stupid exhibition matches, meaningless clay tournaments and still bytches about the schedule (at least he doesn't play the Davis Cup this year). Get some rest Rafa before tennis sends you in a wheelchair !!!

That's what I appreciate in Fed : the way he listens to his body and manages himself. He can make huge breaks to rest and come back fresher and that's why he has the longetivity at the top. Nadal's knees won't hold forever unfortunately... stop listening to your sponsors Rafa, listen to your body instead

Rafa should of BEEN eliminated Barcelona from his schedule after 2009 and stop w/these dumb azz exhibitions. Hell, i'd go as far as to say he should start skipping Monte Carlo too and ONLY play Masters 1000's like Fed does. That's how Fed has maintained himself, GOAT scheduling by the GOAT player. Aren't they allowed to skip 2 Masters 1000's w/point penalties? He'd be smart to skip Miami at the beginning of the year and only play one of the lead up's to the US Open (Cincy and Montreal), buuuuut we know he won't :beli:

While we sleeping, James Blake can go a LONG way in this tourney if he's focused. He'll playing the winner of Tomic/Querrey and then more than likely will face Gasquet which he can beat and then more than likely Berdych.

c'mon Blake got dammit :blessed:

By the way brehs, I entered a tourney last week-end after 3 years of not doing competitive tennis anymore. I'm at my 4th round (one round a day) :whew:
If I look at this chart (PDF) : http://www.tennisplayandstay.com/media/133082/133082.pdf, at the moment, my ranking US-wise is 1.5. My best was 3.0 a few years ago.
  • 1st round : won 6/2 6/0 against a 1.0 (opponent may have made like 20 double faults :lolbron:)
  • 2nd round : walkover against a 2.0 :ahh:
  • 3rd round : won 7/5 6/3 against a 2.5 (but I definitely shytted this one... led 4/0 in the first set and led 5/1 in the second :beli:)
  • 4th round : today, I will play against another 2.5 (will keep y'all updated)

Yeah, they can skip Monte Carlo and another one of their choice if they want.
I also agree with you about the 1000's, he should only stick to this and avoid one of them on hardcourt.

I don't understand, is that good or bad ? :euh:
The tournament stops at 6.0 and last three weeks (that's about 20 rounds) and in France, the rankings are more detailled than the US ones : this 2.5 has a better french ranking than the one I played before.
