I will never understand the constant clamoring for new costumes… nikkas really like playing dress up with dolls, high key. The dopest ones always end up getting tourney banned anyway. I’d be totally fine with maybe one extra costume and a custom color maker or something, AT MOST.

People like their avatar looking fly, and in fighting games, the character of choice is their avatar.

People say this and then wonder why their "favorite" games flop.

Liking Mai so far. Only got to play through her trials, but she feels like Terry without being complicated.

That backdash though:scust:

Your statement holds no water, my friend:

Franchises
  • Mortal Kombat - 85 million.
  • Super Smash Bros. - 75.64 million.
  • Dragon Ball (fighting games) - 65.8 million.
  • Tekken - 57 million.
  • Street Fighter - 55 million.
  • Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm - 30 million.
  • Soul Calibur - 15 million.
  • Marvel vs. Capcom - 11 million.

Also, by sales #'s SF2, with it's singular, iconic character avatars, is the most successful entry in the SF franchise.

:patrice: ay...how far y'all be getting in those combo trails?

...and do y'all use some of those in real matches?

I manage to complete em for characters i like. Some are some good BnBs and meter dump options but are mostly there to show you what the character is capable of.

For example Manon EX anti air QCF K in QCF P while ok on its own is great punish into CA.

:patrice: ay...how far y'all be getting in those combo trails? I finish them

...and do y'all use some of those in real matches? Sometimes. They're more of a template. Trial combos are often suboptimal to show off what the character can do. Some are not worth the difficulty.

Mai got the entire FGC in a tizzy. From just watching some videos, she seems really straighforward. The fan mixup is catching people off guard, leading to a lot of throws

Hey. If she throws the regular fan and tries to follow up w/ a throw. Can’t you just neutral jump and attack downward? Will you beat both or will you still eat one or the other?

from what i've seen, it depends. she might have time to anti- air. and the throw is just one possibility. She can go low, and if you are holding "up" on your controller, you'll take a combo. You can also shimmy and bait a throw, leading to another combo

You can also block it, but you're gonna end up burnt out in the corner before long.

She seems like a really solid character.

@O.Red , what are your thoughts? :jbhmm:

Question: For yall who play on stick…do yall find it easier than d-pad?

I wanna get one because I feel like it would…not make me better, but help w/ my execution. The thumbs are a bit stiff, but I can press buttons in a “typing” style way faster and more precise.

I can use either. I depends on the game. For some reason, CvS2 and Third Strike and damn near all SNK fighters feel better on stick to me. But on SF6, I'm on pad. But it's all about comfort and execution. It sounds like you should try a hitbox or something like a Razer Kitsune where all the inputs are buttons. That will give you the "typing" sensation you're looking for. I've tried on and I see the appeal, but it feels unnatural to me.

Depends on which fan. If it's normal charged fan you'll end up jumping into it. And if it's EX fan you just gotta hold the mix and guess correctly. Even if you parry, you run the risk of just getting thrown. The only way that works is if the fan misses completely, and even then if she DRs into you she can just DP and stuff your neutral jump. If it's uncharged you can literally just jab it or go through it with your own fireball.
