I spent a year mastering Gen. You play Gen you were like a wizard as he was way more complex than anybody else.

This was the first time it was confirmed officially. But basically, it's understood for years that all Capcom fighting games and beat 'em ups (and Strider) are all once universe while Resident Evil and Monster Hunter are others.
