Most I've spent on a card was 6850. And it's not even top 10 most valuable in my collection. Just needed to have it.
Spent 4-5k on 3 cards. Spent 2-3k on about 5 or 6 cards.
Most of my purchases are 1k or less.
Like @Regular_P said, there's not necessarily a max on what I will buy, I just need to feel comfortable that it is good value and has room to further appreciate.
It's becoming harder and harder to find such cards in the current hobby climate.
Seems like any athlete with a pulse is priced like they're a franchise anchor, generational talent, and future multiple time champ and MVP
And trust me, I'm fully aware of the irony of that last statement coming from a Mavs fan and Luka investor.

Buy a proper safe. At the very least those fireproof document holders. I have those for the title of my car and beneficiary forms.I’m just shook of keeping that much value on me. Nobody knows what I have, or where I have it. But I’m lowkey paranoid about theft, fire, water leak, etc. I’d hate for some freak outlier occurrence to fukk my finances up.
PWCC will ship cards back for 0.25% fulfillment fee. Essentially a 40-60k card that they store can be sent back to you for $100-150. Not terrible considering they will store for free and only have to pay 8% to them upon sale instead of 13% to eBay.
Goldin is definitely where it’s at for high end. I’ve also noticed they’re getting a lot of buzz lately. I assume this promo is PWCC’s attempt at procuring high end pieces themselves.

I hear you. But there's more to it than that.
When it comes time to sell these cards, if they're high value, which some of mine are, it's much MUCH much easier to go through a consigner like PWCC than to sell them myself.
Not just for the lower fees. In addition, I don't have to worry about buyer's remorse or returns through PWCC. I get paid out and they deal with the shadiness of customer if they decide to be sketchy after the purchase.
If you're selling cards yourself on eBay, you always have to worry about buyer's remorse or any other fukkery.
Consigners at least give you piece of mind that you can just list, let auction occur, and get paid. No other nonsense.
Plus, I haven't sold much on eBay (bought a lot, but sold very little) so people may be skeptical about buying a 5 figure card from my scrub ass. With PWCC or Probstein? No questions asked.
I think Zach Lavine has the most potential to go from under the radar to a hobby explosion. His Prizm RCs are really low pop and prices aren't even $700. He needs one more player there with him or Lauri to stay on the court but he's kinda on a Steph trajectory with his career.Most I've spent on a card was 6850. Hes on a Bradley Beal trajectory,great stats on a shyt team that dont make the playoffs ever.His cards seem to be doing well tho.

I'm not saying he's gonna win MVPs and titles or have the impact of Steph, but the career arcs are similar. Chicago's roster is pretty dogshyt too.
Would you be shocked if they snuck into the playoffs and he averaged 30+ against someone in the first round? They have one less loss than the four seed right now.
Even juicier, what if Chicago remains stagnant this offseason while the Knicks continue to trend upwards with Thibs and Lavine decides that's where he wants to play? He's a free agent after next season.

I dont think they will get in cuz like you said the roster is cheeks...But hes a FA in 2022 right so he could make a jump somewhere and raise his profile...
Yeah, I edited that in. The Knicks would have to be in play with Thibs and that front office making them respectable again. That would cause waves with card collectors too.
Knicks haven't had a guy worth collecting in forever; I don't count Melo.
Given that PGI isnt as valuable as PSA or SGC, does it make sense to buy a card from them, crack it and resend somewhere else?

Apparently the blue trim is rarer than the purple so ill take it.
Dont know if this luka Gold Team holo is worth anything either.
