Is it still legit if a BGS slab doesn't have a patent number?

I've heard that some slabs don't, but I own one that doesn't and have seen slabs within the same checklist that have it (cut cards were slabbed as released). :lupe:

Got a pic? The fake BGS slabs look nearly identical to the real ones.

It's kinda hard to tell by the pic, but I'm 99% sure the label has the little ribbed edges along the border (would have to check in morning).

Man, I'm not familiar with graded boxing cards. I've never seen a BGS front label look like that before. That seems odd to me but I'm really ignorant on boxing stuff.

Yeah it seems really odd that this cut wouldn't have one when every other cut I've seen from the 2014 FFMOA checklist has the patent #.

Especially paranoid due to it being SRR :wow: seller was smasports if that rings a bell to anyone.

I remember a post about the lack of a period between the PAT & rest of the number meaning it's 100% fake, but not having a number at all could be fine for thicker cut slabs.

Idk man :mjcry:

My biggest thing is they usually have an "Authentic" label or something when it's ungraded.

Since it's part of a set that's slabbed pre-release none of them have the authentic label so I'm not as worried about that.

here's another example (has patent on back but I don't wanna take up so much space & post both pics/have to resize)

Ahh, I didn't know that. If it's 2014, it's legit. These fake slabs are very recent from what I've read.

Plus, they're gonna do this with common cards you can't tell the difference with, not 1 of 1s.
