Waiting to put a last second bid in on this Lamar Tie-Dye card. I'd be willing to go up to $3,000, but I think I can get it for less. It's at $2,000 with about 15 minutes left...........

Didn't end up winning it. When I kept clicking to increase my max bid in the final seconds, I didn't realize how much of a jump it was. It went from $2,250 to $3,950 in a split second. I do wish I won, but I'm fine with not spending $4,000 on it.

Yeah, if you go after a big card like that. A lot of people will snipe at the last second with a really high bid. No point in going up incrementally.
What is your opinion on the value comparison between PSA 10, BSG 10, and a BSG 9.5? I was reading from some that BSG 9.5 are definitely more valuable than PSA 9? Also, is there a black and gold label for BSG? I see varying opinions from people, but obviously it seems most say PSA 10 is the best you can get out of any, but a BSG 9.5>PSA 9?
So, I got my Lamar Kaboom in the mail today. My best cards that I've gotten over the past two months are the ones I've bought on Ebay. I got a Jordan Love Flawless BSG 8.5 and a Patrick Mahomes Gold Optic /10 from one of the breaks I did, but that's really it for those.
My best cards are the ones in bold.

I think I got a decent deal on this card. I got it for about $1,200. It looks like it recently went for about $1,600 in two different auctions for PSA 10's.

All I can say is that Lamar better not suck this season.

.PSA 10 >>>>> BGS 9.5 with rookie cards. I've seen some Kobes going for four times as much. The gap isn't as large post-rookie season but 10s are still the winner. BGS 10s generally have a premium over PSA 10s but not always. The gap has closen though black label BGS 10s generally command a massive premium, which I would never pay.

This is why you always go after singles instead of wax. Break once in a while but it's always smarter to pick the exact cards you want.
Someone probably shilled it and didn't pay. If I coulda responded earlier I woulda said no way pay $1,600 on it but you got it a decent bit less than that so it's all good.
All I can say is that Lamar better not suck this season.
Nothing wrong with going all in. Hope it works out for you. If your gut tells you he's gonna be a superstar, trust it.

I appreciate you giving us newer collectors advice on what cards to buy.
A lot of collectors lose money because they don't understand how top heavy this hobby is. Only a handful of players in a handful of sets really hold / increase in value.
Picked up a couple more Zions. There's a few more I want to track down but I'm happy with my start. I'm gonna try to cross the Blank Slate at PSA.
Damn, that top card looks expensive as hell.
