What are your thoughts on Kyler Murray Rookie cards? I'm in an auction for a few now. One is a PSA 10.

Murray is good and he's only going to get better as he plays more. His stock will continue to go up and he hasn't even had a ton of buzz so far.
Probably solid buy low guy. Herbert and Burrow will be getting some hype from last year and looks like there might be 4 or 5 new guys from this year that can be heavily stanned and collected.

I feel like Murray can have some massive seasons, especially with Hopkins there.

I've also been looking at some Matthew Stafford rookie autos, but the prices are all over the place. This lot looks overpriced by about 2-3 times (per card basis) from what I've seen the same cards going for.

I've decided that I'm not going to buy any cards with sticker autos on them. I'm going to only go with on card autos right now.

Picked up a few Kyler cards and going for some Lamar's now.

I know I'm buying higher than these cards went for even just one year ago, and may be slightly overpaying for some now, but I plan on holding for years.

Also, question about Beckett and PSA.

I've been avoiding buying cards graded by Beckett as you guys and other people have told me to pretty much stick to PSA.

Is there really a big gap in value for a BSG and PSA for the same grade? And, let's say I got a card that was a BSG 8, would I be able to submit it to PSA for a potential different grade?

@BucciMane people are trying to make a quick buck on Stafford to the Rams. Be patient and wait for an auction or more reasonable BIN. The majority of BINs on eBay are ridiculous and they aren't serious about selling; only looking to move stuff if they can gouge someone.

Good idea to axe out sticker autos. There is justifiably a price gap between the two. It's tacky and never should have been a thing. I hate it.

For rookies, there is a major gap between gem mint BGS (9.5) and PSA (10) slabs that continues to grow. Mint BGS (9) and PSA (9) doesn't have as big of a gap and if the BGS sub grades are high enough can be the same price or sometimes higher depending on the card.

For certain cards, especially rare or condition sensitive cards, the price difference isn't as extreme. Certain stuff won't matter as long as it's slabbed.

I would pass on Limited.

Contenders, National Treasures, Immaculate, Flawless, Prizm, Select Field Level and Optic is what I would suggest you narrow your focus to. Those are the most desired releases for rookies. Buy doubles before dipping outside of those, especially if you're holding for a while anyway. Those brands will have the most explosive growth.

I decided to spend a good chunk of money, and go for the lower numbered on card auto's for Kyler. Also, I'm an idiot and fukked up with the redemption card. I thought I searched for "Kyler Murray rookie auto", but I must have just searched for Kyler Murray auto and it was a 2020 card, not 2019..

Now that I have some Kyler cards, I'm looking at maybe trying to get some rookie autos for Winston and Lamar.

I can definitely say that doing all of the breaks I did was not worth it financially. It's pretty much hoping for a home run getting one of a few teams. And, buying those boxes of contenders was dumb. Overpaid massively.

I was looking at a Winston 2015 Topps Chrome Rookie Auto PSA 10.

I like the top Jeudy a lot. Has a great patch on it. The bottom corners look normal but because it won't gem, I'd send that to BGS instead of PSA to grade. They're generally a little more lenient on those cards than PSA so you should get a higher grade.

I like the Murray Panini One patch/auto even though there's a little damage to the patch window.

Also, how are Topps cards from years ago? They have good value?

Yeah, Topps and Topps Chrome have a lot of value, particularly Chrome. If you want to take a flyer on Jameis, that's definitely a good place to start. Think 2015 was the last year of Topps Chrome for the NFL.

And, you're right about those Stafford cards. I was looking at a lot of three cards that this guy had listed for $2,500, but I'm pretty sure I've seen those same cards go for sub $500 each.

Yep, that's the spot. There's a lot of subtle things you won't notice at first when checking out cards. Sometimes you'll catch things in graded cards too. This is in a PSA 10 case too:

The bottom left part of the card looks like it was chewed. Insanity that it was placed in a 10 holder. That shoulda been a 5 or 6.

You asked earlier whether you could buy a card in one grade and re-submit it for a different grade. It's very possible. Doesn't happen all the time and generally you have a better chance if you crack the card out and submit it raw. @Codeine Bryant has cracked out 9s and gotten 10s back.

If you guys find any rookie QB cards that you think are pretty good value, definitely let me know. I have about $10,000-20,000 I'd be willing to spend over the next few weeks or months on cards. I guess I'm looking for rookie on card autos, and mostly QB's. I think I'd rather pay for a premium/high end card than a bunch of "decent" ones. I've been comparing cards that were purchased over the past few years (mainly past few months) to some that I've seen on Ebay. Obviously a lot of them are overpriced, as I've seen some Lamar Jackson cards that went for $4,500 a few months ago showing up as an asking price of $7,500 now.

If you see any you think are good deals, or even "within reason", I'd be interested.
