Last couple 2019 Select FOTL boxes auctioned around $800 on eBay though they only had 5 packs instead of 12 like this year's will have. There's a bunch of BIN/BOs sitting there at $1,100-1,200 too. Personally, I would wait until at least $1,500 and probably lower.

Just basing off the recent Prizm Basketball FOTL, this has a chance to get close to the floor. I think people are starting to realize how crazy wax prices have become.

Got it.

I think I might put $5,000 aside and try and buy around $1300-1,400/box, and if I don't get anything, I'd be fine. Maybe I won't even do anything, but I wouldn't buy above that.

fukk, they used LeBron's Kobe dunk after his death as his Prizm base card this year. I'm gonna have to go after some of these this year. :mjcry:

@Regular_P your advice worked. Nat put my buddy in touch with someone today who was able to get to the bottom of it. A few cards are still missing, but the most expensive ones have been found. They're working to get everything situated now. :salute:
That's good to hear, man. Everything I've seen from Nat in the past suggests he's a decent guy.

PSA just halted all submissions below the $300/card level until at least July 1st. :picard:ards

They weren't trying to get hit with a million Prizm base cards and be backed up for the next decade.

I think their slabs will carry an even bigger premium now at least for the time being and possibly lower the value of raw cards.

They should have done this a year ago the number of bullshyt 10.00 cards i see online in PSA holders is sickening....Doesnt PSA still only have the one submission office in California,so slow to expand with the hobby

I think they need to completely divide the submissions. All the base card bullshyt should go to one location or division. People sending that garbage in can wait a year for their cards. That's the reason the wait times are so fukked. Everything else should be graded separately so they can be completed in a reasonable time frame.

If I were to get one or two of those FOTL boxes for $1,300-1,500, do you think that would be overpaying still? I'm fine not buying one. Wasn't sure if you or @Codeine Bryant thought that would be an overpay for the Dutch auction.
I think FOTL hobby prizm for around 1300ish is okay.

It’s an expensive box, but if you’re keen on breaking basketball wax, Prizm hobby is about as good as you can get. And under 1500 for a FOTL isn’t terrible.

Lettuce pray you get more than a Josh Green blue shimmer, though

Edit: you’re talking about Select Football FOTL. I’m not sure what Select goes for in football. 1500 is probably an overpay. I don’t think Football Select is worth 1500 a box

Do you guys see this market crashing anytime soon?

And, and still considering doing that Dutch auction. If I were to go in with the mindset that I will not buy higher than $1,300, do you still believe I would be overpaying at that price?

I keep saying yes but it continues growing every 6 months so im gonna say i dont see it crashing in the near future....I think we could see a shift in grading cards with the PSA suspension...

Too much institutional money in it for the entire card market to crash anytime soon. I could definitely see lower end, less desirable cards pull back a bit but the high end and most desirable cards/stars will always maintain.

I think that's still too much. There's so few cards in Select that will cover a box at that price.

What would the premium boxes be with the biggest potential hits? Put price aside if you may, or if you have a few options?

I don't think I'll get involved in the FOTL tomorrow though based on what you and @Codeine Bryant have been saying.

National Treasures is definitely #1 in that regard. National Treasures RPAs (Rookie Patch Autographs) have long been king when it comes to rookie cards. I'd probably put Contenders second and Flawless third.

Cot dayum are those boxes a crapshoot. You barely get any cards.
