Soooo how did the Cubans take over Miami?
The island is ninety miles away. It's the closest thing to Cuba there is. It's like Mexicans and LA, a major city not far from the border. Plus there were things like the Mariel boat lift, when Castro let a whole bunch of Cubans flee the island. I believe I had some older family members that were part of it. When you live in a communist country where they limit your food supplies, I've heard stories of people getting a certain amount of rice and stuff like that for the week, then you do whatever you can to get out. Even if that means getting on a raft or some sort of boat and thugging it out for the journey across the sea. Another example of how they took over Miami, which is more to do with power, was during the cocaine cowboys era. When Escobar was popping, he used Cuba and Miami as a route to the U.S. He had Cubans out here working for him and getting the shipments in. They would fly the planes out over the coast and drop shipment. The Cubans would send speed boats out to collect and be faster than what the coast guard was driving. One of the biggest cocaine dealers was a Cuban named Willy Falcon. Rick Ross put him as #1 in his top ten Miami kingpins list. They got a youtube video or some video out somewhere. I forgot the name of the dvd. Push it to the limit maybe, who knows? So yeah when you get the Colombian cartel connection plus the willingness to get a better life, than more and more folks gonna start coming. There's also stories that the banking system out here was built on drug money but that's a story for another day.

Speaking of real estate. I hear Palm beach is great right now. My boy is looking to buy in Boynton Beach and he said the prices are great compared to Dade and broward. He's looking at a 4-2 and the prices are like condo and apartment prices down south. Plus the schools are all A schools. With a son, and another on the way, that's definitely a plus for him. Plus it's closer to his job since he works up there. Looks like a decent place to raise a family. If I had a girl or kids, I would consider buying a house up there. But i just need something small for now. Amy of you that live in North broward or south Palm beach and are looking, should check that area out. Good thing is it's not far from my house. Navigation says about an hour away up the sawgrass so it's not far from visiting your family or even if you work in broward. Dade and broward getting too expensive and over crowded already.

Anyone checked out Mojo Donuts? Got some for work a few weeks back and it was good. Real popular spot so they sell out quick. Not your regular dunkin donuts type of spot either.

Checked out this burger joint in Miami gardens last night. Way out west right before 75. Burger was expensive, atleast since I got a double burger anyways but it was good. Took it to go but looked like a nice little chill spot. Think it was called burger brew or something like that.
