Miami Gardens/North Miami
How did I miss this thread.:leon:
Thanks but way outta my range breh :damn:
Living in Aventura is EXPENSIVE. It is a nice area, but is EXPENSIVE. I stay in Miami Gardens, and depending on the area you can find a good place and commute to the hot spots. Miami Lakes also has some affordable housing. South Broward Pembroke, Miramar, Cooper City, and etc) have reasonable housing. I plan to leave Miami though.
That's actually Miami Gardens(I don't know why they named it Aventura Isle, lol), I drive pass it everyday.

It looks pretty good.:ehh:

I am actually in the MDC-North library right now. I was printing out stuff for admittance into law school. I want to go to law school in NC and practice in New York or another major city except Philly and Boston.

Let me know if you ever have any questions about the process or even just law school or the practice of law in general. I'd be more than happy to answer them.

Man accused of mass gang shooting walks free after 7 years
Morris%20Sales

Morris Sales Miami-Dade Corrections
By David Ovalle

  • Up until Thursday, Morris Sales faced the death penalty for the wild 2007 mass shooting at a Little River block party that claimed the life of an innocent bystander.

But Sales will walk free in a matter of days after pleading guilty Thursday, agreeing to what amounts to credit for the seven years he’s been behind bars while awaiting trial. The reason: The state’s case suffered tremendously after the defense punched holes in the stories of the informants on which the case was built.

“We shredded the credibility of the snitch witnesses,” said Miami defense attorney David S. Markus.

Said co-counsel Scott Sakin: “It’s amazing you can go from verge of the death penalty to walking out of jail the next day.”

Sales, 31, pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder in the killing of Keyon Donaldson. A second defendant, Lincoln Edwins, is awaiting trial.

The wild shooting was one of several highly visible ambush-style gang attacks that plagued North Miami-Dade in 2007.

According to police, Sales and Edwin were looking to kill two gangsters known as “Little Collie” and “Boo” for the shooting death of Kenneth “Kenny Dread” Smith. He was the nephew of notorious drug lord Cory Smith, leader of the John Does gang that wreaked havoc on Liberty City in the 1990s.

The scene: a block party on the 7500 block of Northwest 11th Avenue. A children’s birthday party was happening next door.

The gunmen, wielding assault rifles, parked nearby, got out and opened fire — killing Donaldson and wounding four others. Horrified onlookers, including children, ran for cover.

Miami-Dade detectives traced the rental car used by the gunmen, finding a Gatorade bottle inside with DNA matching Sales. He was a convicted drug peddler whose father served 10 years in prison for second-degree murder.

But the car was not found until four days later. For prosecutors, that meant it was difficult to prove when Sales was inside the car.

A federal inmate told police that he was with Sales and Edwin at the time of the shooting.

Al Capone in Miami – Part 1 of 4 | Miami History

Capone Arrives in Miami

Ponce de Leon Hotel in 1924

Capone was very fond of Miami long before he arrived there in December of 1927. He referred to the town as “the garden of America, the sunny Italy of the new world, where life is good and abundant, where happiness is to be had even by the poorest”. He was especially fond of the anything goes indulgence of Miami in the 1920s, including rampant gambling and a complete disregard for prohibition. Miami was Capone’s kind of town. So, he had thought.

After his last visit from the Chicago police in December of 1927, Capone decided he would investigate life in Miami. Capone registered at the Ponce de Leon, a hotel in downtown Miami on Flagler Street, under the name of “A Costa”. Capone took suite 804, which was the penthouse suite on the top floor of the hotel.

Capone also rented a house on Miami Beach’s Indian Creek for Mae and Sonny, his wife and son. The home was later characterized as a “palatial home” by the government. Capone paid $2500 per month to rent the home.
