Opa-Locka is the next frontier of gentrification. Mostly because of that arts district they're trying to build. I hope Blacks don't get shuffled up outta there. I hope they attract Black artist, and produce a Black creative class in unison with the community.

Anyone else have a love/hate relationship with Miami?

I am pursuing law school. I am highly considering Carolina Law and practicing in New York.

Bet being in a hotshot attorney in Miami is KANG shyt!
Leave Florida, pursue your education in NYC. THEN go back down to South Florida, and help out your people, friends, family who are stuck in that revolving door. Many people move away from home, and don't wanna go back at All. Atlanta a popular destination for Blacks fleeing where they live(especially South Florida blacks) but why not leave ATL for the Atliens and help your homegrowns in Broward? You get to be well-off in South Florida, and help your family out.

I want to and am going to help my people down here but I have to establish myself elsewhere unfortunately. I do not have anymore time to be playing games with these cacs and latinos (mainly cubans) on giving me an opportunity to build upon.

Which ones? i thought those were more latin american inspired styles :ohhh:
Naw, all those crazy looking buildings in Opa Locka are Moorish. Opa Locka was designed to be a themed suburb of Miami. The theme of the suburb was based on the old Muslim, Arabic tale 1001 Arabian Nights. That's why if you drive around Opa-Locka, you'll see a bunch of streets with names like "Ali Baba", and "Sultan Ave", and "Baghdad St" . And the City Hall of Opa Locka looks like something off of Aladdin. Opa Locka has one of the largest collections of Moorish architecture in the US. Opa Locka really is unlike anywhere in the US.
