I’m scared to try Haitian food, that might be good
I've been saying it, Miami's been trying to transform it's image from party/resort town, to an artsy hub for the past 10yrs. It's gonna be interesting years ahead when all those megaclubs like LIV and Story close down, and we start to see even more warehouse art galleries, beer gardens and museums replacing the old club spaces.Miami is starting to become hipster central
Yeah im peeping...I touched down here a year ago...Wynwood is not what I remmeber it being when I visited as a kid...it was full ricans last I remember, now its cac central. heard they tryna gentrify Lil Haiti tooI've been saying it, Miami's been trying to transform it's image from party/resort town, to an artsy hub for the past 10yrs. Yep. You know the history. Most folks don't seem to know that Wynwood used to be a Puerto Rican neighborhood. Miami really is trying to break away from that image. We've seen it with the way they heavily police and try to deter Memorial Beach Weekend. Any sort of major beach event like Memorial Beach weekend or even spring break, Miami doesn't roll out the red carpet for those events anymore. Only events like Art Basel and the Black FIlm Festival. Miami will roll out the red carpet for those two events and anything having to do with the arts. Little Haiti has plenty of galleries and little music events weekly, so I don't want to say that the direction Miami is trying to head towards, is completely bad. But it's bad when the original residents are displaced by the hipsters. If Miami can embrace high culture and the arts without displacing the original residents than that'd be cool. Yep, Miami is trying to race away from the Vice City image. That's a good way of putting it. That's why events like Black Basel need to get more recognition when folks touchdown in Miami. Embrace the arts, but also embrace the black folks and other minorities.Yeah im peeping...I touched down here a year ago...Wynwood is not what I remmeber it being when I visited as a kid...it was full ricans last I remember, now its cac central. heard they tryna gentrify Lil Haiti too
