Never had/played through Donkey Kong Country as a kid (I know) ...so I started there.

Real talk, :pacspit: Mine Cart Carnage. Spent about 15 min trying to clear the second half of that stage

Those mine cart levels were some of the most intense in the history of gaming and they only get worse. :merchant:

Again no it's not. If only the people that wanted the thing bought it then you wouldn't be able to get one period. You'd have to catch it at retail and since the supply is so low that would make it almost impossible to get one.

When scalpers buy these things and raise the price they make sure the item is still available. Right now you can go on eBay and pay what the thing is actually worth to many consumers and get one and you'll always be able to do that because there will always be a supply on eBay.

This is Nintendo's fault for putting this item out at a price so low with a supply that doesn't match the price.
It would be available if so many weren't buying multiple consoles to resell

No it wouldn't. It would sell out at retail and because everyone that actually bought it wanted one for themselves the item would be completely unavailable for anyone until Nintendo either raises the price, catches up with the backed up demand, or stops making the item.

Scalpers also bought the Wii U at launch yet it was still available because Nintendo made more than enough of them at the going price.

This is Nintendo's fault.

This is Nintendo's fault.
More people would've been able to pre-order instead of certain individuals preordering multiple consoles from different stores and even different countries just to sell them for jacked up prices to the people that would've been able to order at regular price.

The long and short of it is is that scaplers are just reselling to the same people they took the opportunity of getting one for normal price from.

Wii-U was a bust thats why they were readily available at stores
