No they aren't. Resellers are a natural occurrence when a good is priced below the market equilibrium price. The problem is the device is priced so low by Nintendo that it creates shortages. The resell market actually brings the price of the good closer to what the actual price should be.

Oh that's way too high. I was lazy and didn't wake up early enough for the SNES Classic. I copped one for $167 from a good seller on ebay (which is slightly less than double for no hassles [knock on wood]).

Again no it's not. If only the people that wanted the thing bought it then you wouldn't be able to get one period. You'd have to catch it at retail and since the supply is so low that would make it almost impossible to get one.
When scalpers buy these things and raise the price they make sure the item is still available. Right now you can go on eBay and pay what the thing is actually worth to many consumers and get one and you'll always be able to do that because there will always be a supply on eBay.
This is Nintendo's fault for putting this item out at a price so low with a supply that doesn't match the price.

Finally started playing. Just beat the first world of Super Mario World. It's like I didn't miss a beat. I don't remember if I originally beat the game but I know I got far. But I'm bout to beat it this time. I'm sure I beat donkey Kong. Some of these games might be new to me. Like secret of mana, earthbound and kirby. Never really got into the final fantasy series either. But nonetheless, this system looks great. Bringing back old memories while playing it. Just thinking about it. Back then, I was playing Super Nintendo and watching Full House. The same thing I'm doing now 25 years later with this system and Fuller House on Netflix. I feel like Marty McFly. We done hopped out the Delorean brehs.
