plus the fight especially after round 2 showed that he really isn't scared of Kovalev ad his power
I can't blame him for not starting to talk about the rematch immediately after such a tiring preparation and fight. He achieved one of his long term goals let him rest, ffs...
yeah if I would be a fighter I guess I'd just say the rematch is 100% and etc to let them roll with it but as I said I ca understand why he didn't talk about that so partially.
Sometimes I doN't know what this man has to do to gain some of yours respect.
First it was "why he wants Golovkin he should step up and fight Kovalev"
then he stepped up and it was "he won't fight Kovallev, he's scared" (as if Wad would have ever been scared of any fighter in his career)
then the fight became official and they said "I only believe this happening when they are both in the ring, I don't give Ward any credit before that"
then the fight ends and they say "Ward and corrupt American judges robbed Kovalev he was running (or he was wrestling, they can't even be consistent with their BS), he won't dare to give a rematch to Kovalev or even that the rematch should be in Russia with Russian judges which is absolutely ridiculous and doesn't make any sense.
Ward NEVER gonna get his dues respect by many "fans". Like Mayweather just the number of his haters is less (cause he's less known)
And the fact that he has a messier fighting style doesn't justify this hate, there are many "dirty" fighters who gets half or less the hate Ward gets.

How do yall score fights? I'm looking at the people whining about Compubox stats, now. So I look them up and Kov landed... 10 more punches the entire fight.
Round 2 was +13, 10 was +5, and he outlanded SOG in 4 other rounds by no more than 2 punches.
Maybe I'm trippin but I've always accounted for defense and offensive efficiency when I "judge" rounds. It doesn't even seem to be a category to a lot of other folks. Kov threw 200 more punches, but folks are clinging onto that +10 as if that's how we're supposed to judge fights.

I think it's laughable how many people come with compubox as it would be some 100% legit, unassailable thing...
Compubox is written by PEOPLE, and people can be wrong. They count the punches live ffs... just like us or almost like us... how are they any more reliable than me or anybody else?
those stats only mean that there are some people who counted like that. Who the fukk knows what they included, what they ignored and etc...?

I gave Ward a lot of rounds based on ring generalship. I saw Ward working while Kov was holding him in a headlock looking for the ref to break them up. I saw Ward neutralize Kov's offense.
Was it your typical, resounding SOG one-sided performance? No. Was it pretty? fukk no.
But Ward definitely made it HIS fight and Sergey didn't have any response. It's just unfortunate that Andre not only gets denied his just due for what he just did, but vilified for it.
