as I see it, being a close fight a lot of ppl just scored it based on their bias at the end of the day.
If they favored Kov's style then Kov won it for them by a few, if they preferred Ward's then him. Both made a case tbh...
That's why most media members got Kovalev. Kovalev is simply just more popular or at least his style is so with a razor close fight like this more people will give it to him.
I doN't mean "bias" now as a negative term but simply as a natural simpathy for a fighter/style. Kovalev being the action fighter just appeals to more people, even among media members, just latter ones -since they are not casuals - usually have enough sense to admit that regardless what they scored this was close and not a robbery, except a very few of them who shamefully went down to the casual level crying robbery (Lederman, Doug Fischer).
Now casuals are like Kovalev and his style better by an even higher chance and they alsdo don't really understand the whole thing (sorry but true) hence why many of them cries robbery.

OF course there can be exceptions but imo most of the times the way someone scored THIS fight tells who s/he rooted for or which style s/he prefers overall

I can absolutely see Ward legitely winning this and -surprise - I rooted for him and his style is closer to me

see above who rooted for Ward and who for Kovalev.

That shyt look damn there like the Pacquiao-Bradley press row scores :heh:

When ringside observers are that close to being in total unanimity that you loss...not a good look...Ward is definitely gonna need to run that back ASAP.

The commentators dont influence anybody. The crowd even booed the decision and they dont hear the commentary. People just thought Kovalev won including me
I feel what you're saying, but I guarantee you that if Kovalev had been announced the winner you would've heard booing at the decision as well (for people thinking Ward won).

This fight was that close. I don't really have a bias for sports (other than the natural anti-:mjpls:) so I don't actually care who wins (outside of my bets); this fight, I scored 114-113 for Ward as well, but if somebody tells me Kovalev won, I don't argue with them. If someone tells me Ward won by a wider margin, I don't really argue with that either. This fight can't be a robbery either way, it's just a close, incredibly competitive fight. If anything, the fact that Kovalev knocked Ward down and that he was a (slight) underdog probably skew things toward his side in a perspective sense, but this isn't a fight where someone got cheated.

I'd like to know who made this bullshyt up. This is stupid. It's about who wins the most rounds.

Thing is man when you win decisively, it should just be that....decisively. There should no cries of rigged, no cries of robbed no cries because your dominance gave you the victory. Remember, you are the contender, you have to beat the champ CLEARLY with no controversy

It should not be this much feedback

WTF!?!?! NOTHING THAT YOU POSTED SUGGESTED RACISM BRO? LMAOOOO ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
I could go through multiple sources and line them up but I no longer care. If you do still care and decide to research yourself, you won't find blatant disrespectful racism. What you will find is blatant bias toward slick black fighters.

ThaT ain't true. You can win a close fight, or you can lose a close fight.

Example mayweather Maidana 1 would be considered a close fight that Floyd won 8-4. Now that may be a wide Win but the fight was close because the rounds were close. Even though the rounds were close Floyd won them individually.

You judged fights round by round.
