I thought Kovalev was tough and hung in there but It was pretty clear Ward won easily!

It's called inside fighting Kathy... and your fighter still has to improve in it to match Ward in there even though he nicely stood his ground in the first half.

How is Duva disappointed with the ref when her fighter did at least half the holding and usually was the passive half in the clinch?
Also the ref always immediately broke them up for 3-4 rounds he started to let things flow from the fifth and I think it's good that he let cause inside fighting or dare I say not fighting in Kovalev's preferred range is a part of boxing and we didn't just see a passive holdig/clinch fest á'la Wlad but we saw two fighters rough each other up on the inside which was entertaining to most of us.

I swear these motherfukkers always have something to bytch about.
If the opponent doesn't stay in the puncher's preferred range they either complain abut the opponent "running" or if the opponent goes on the inside they are having problem with the ref...

not to mention kov was instigating a lot of the holding cause he didn't want to let ward get inside and negate his power.



but max and roy need to call fights like this all the time. that little back and forth they had with jim where they were like "and that was ward's moment...and that was kov's moment"....shyt was fukkin hilarious. if that didn't expose jim for his blatant dikk riding I don't know what will. I was disappointed in max saying andre looked surprised at the decision though. you know the HBO show runner's told him to say that. max and roy been slowly losing their balls over the past couple years. they used to keep it real. roy still does but only when he's not on HBO. when he's doing interviews with these small time media companies like fight hype, he always speaks his mind like he wants. it was good to see them keeping jim and harold in check last night. at this point, it takes a lot for max to go against the mold. usually he's more than happy to keep sucking that HBO dikk. that just tells you how disgusting jim and harold were last night. even max had enough of their shyt.

I thought Byrd did a good job. He didnt over-officiate and he didnt allow TOO much clinching. He allowed them to work.
