I cant play it in the background. I literally tried when I first started rewatching it. I'd be cleaning or doing something while it was playing and I got to the point where I was doing way more laughing than getting anything done

yeah but Jerry never got any love. he's legit funny as hell, especially if you watch it all in a row. the rest outshine him b/c of what you said, but he deserves more credit than he ever got. people always shyt on his acting. it's not that bad

He really isn't a great actor. Dude nearly breaks kayfabe every other episode but somehow it works

Because he's the straight man or audience avatar to most of the foolishness around.. George/Elaine.. George's parents.. Newman.. etc.. all tremendous actors.
