someone is selling one of these locally on reddit. i probably could've benefited from it on my san diego trip this past weekend. went out for a walk and only took my 20mm, when a lot of the shots I got would've benefited from a 50mm or more (couldn't get close enough to the animals without them running off).

Probably the best most versatile glass you can get for the money. I use it for everything. Portraits, video, everything.

24-70 28-75 is a great travel lense and a general workhorse.

Recently I’ve been taking a 35 and a 200-600 on my trips and that’s worked very well also.

We have a 24-105 f4 that’s perfect for headshots and studio work. Been getting into events pretty tough and realizing I really really need a 24-70 f2.8.

I got the tamron 70-180 f2.8 I use for headshots and anything with good outdoor light that I need that telephoto reach. But that long focal length means you gotta compensate with a faster shutter speed no matter what focal length you have dialed in.


My next move is a prime 1.4 as a low light beats because I’m using 61 MP on the a7rV and the low light challenges that come with high MP

I got the 70-200 covered but really need the faster short zoom. Wish canon would let sigma and tamron drop full frame lenses asap. I’d love to get my hands on that new sigma 50 f1.2 and 24-70 f2.8. How you like that a7rV?

There’s a big price difference between their f1.4 and the f1.2 is it worth it?


I absolutely love the a7RV. I’m hybrid, there haven’t been many camera bodies ever released with minimal compromises on photo and video like this ever. And it has the best autofocus on the market

I think 1.4 is the sweet spot between price, size, and performance.

I need to get my money up cause I want the Canon R5 mkii whenever it comes out.
