Are they strobes by chance? I have 2 Alien Bee B800 strobes, 2 sets of wireless triggers, 1 large softbox, 1 47" Octabox, and 2 22" beauty dishes for light modifiers. I am in the same boat as you, been outta portrait work for about the same amount of time, getting ready to get back into it.

Yep they are strobes. When I decided to get back in the game I was shopping for Alien Bees since that what my bro used and he was cooking with them...but then he advised to check out flashpoint/ Godox while they were recently marked down and also magmod accessories. The portability has been priceless. Once I figure this posting pics thing I’ll def share some results.

I just copped a monitor to help step my game up on editing

Still don’t know how to post flickr pictures :francis:

on the bottom right of the pictures where you download the pictures (the arrow pointing down with a flat horizontal line under it) just click on that, then right click on a size and choose "copy link address". Then when you select the little picture thing on the coli post that link there. I usually choose that medium size.

Y'all have any tips for headshots?

I do videography, but my friends and family see my camera and think I'm a photographer as well

I'll be shooting with a Panasonic GH5 and sigma 35mm 1.4

I honestly hate doing this, just helping out a friend

Late response but that's not the best lens for headshots. You should at the very least use a 50mm. That's my go to lens, It's great for portraits, but even that is pushing it for headshots. A 85 mm or 70-200mm are ideal for headshots.

You just needed a portrait lens and a highlight diffusion filter, a modern 85 or 135 combined with a 1/4 Black Pro Mist or 1/4 ClassicSoft filter would've done the trick

thanks breh, probably not gonna get into that world lol. trying to master videography

thanks, yea I only have a 35mm and a 12-35 for videography I use on my panasonic gh5 and gh5s. I have a 50mm nikon lens, but my nikon camera is entry level.

I was just saying to the casual person they see my cameras and automatically think photographer. when the panasonic gh5 and gh5s are built with video in mind

and people think videography is photography so every once and awhile I end up doing pictures, which I hate

My boy sent me this song as I was heading to the city during the rioting, it was like theme music along the way. I haven't shot a whole music video in years, but for some songs, it's 100% worth my time.

My underutilized A5100 wouldn't turn on recently, even after charging. I looked up some repair shops and they were charging an arm and a leg smh. On a whim I decided to cop two new batteries on Amazon though and that did the trick :smugbiden:

I've owned the camera for 3 years now. I gotta get some more shooting under my belt with the weather being so great outside.

Cleveland finally got it's 1 of 3 Black Lives Matter street artwork. Headed down early Sunday while they still have the street blocked off and put the drone in the air for stills and video.

Straight down shots have become my fav! Dammit I'm gonna stop bullshytting in here. I don't know if it's me or what. But I see my pics and think I'm light years behind y'all. But dammit. I got too much to keep holding for no reason

I haven't put this drone down in the 2 weeks I had it unless it was raining. I'm gonna study for my FA107 license as this is taking off for me. The views from it is just gamechanging levels. Yea you gotta post up and stop bullshytting fam, you one of the main ones with a drone that I know of in here. Man don't doubt your work, always room for improvement and the more you shoot the better you become. All about knowing your equipment and practicing with it, it's gonna take time but you put in the learning/trial & error effort and you will create results you are happy with.
