Best camera for photos and video vlogging for a beginner :jbhmm:

A lot depends on your budget but if you don’t care about 4K, I’d look at a Canon M50. It has Dual Pixel Auto Focus and a filly articulating screen, which will be handy when vlogging. You can also get one with a lens for about $500.

if you want 4K, I’d look at a Panasonic G7, which you can also get for around $500.

How is a shot like this made?

specifically the last 2 shots. i assume the photo is one shot with a 55 mm lens and cut into two portraits? Love the look of scrolling to the right and seeing the subject move from right to left

Photoshop or Illustrator.

You pull the image in there and slice it to create that continuous scrollable effect.

More than likely its a wide angle lens, the distortion on the stairs leads me to believe this.

What type of gigs?

Lots of professional services. I do videography.

I did a short wedding, b roll and interview for Unilever, a corporate Mary Kay event

Photography is in high demand on there too

It really has changed the game for me. I'm working every weekend now

Thumbtack charges you a "lead" fee for customers

1 example is if a customer reaches out to you and YOU respond, Thumbtack will charge you whether you get the job or not

The second example is when you reach out to a customer and THEY respond, Thumbtack also charges you

This charge only happens once per customer , and you can decline a customer's request if they reach out to you

The fees vary based upon the customers budget.

I learned not to mess with the jobs that are in may 2020 for example

Lots of times it's just people price shopping and they may not be ready to hire

I've had success with reaching out to people or accepting jobs that are in the next few weeks. That way you know they're serious and you'll get paid way sooner
