Thanks breh.
Yeah I shoot everything in 4K 60fps (Unless I'm going for the super slow mo effect like I did with the mustang peeling out, then I shoot at 1080p 120fps).
I export everything in 4K for youtube and 1080p for instagram and facebook.
Compression is always going to be an issue online, but when you export it, it should definitely look crystal clear on your computer...if not...something is wrong.
I use Final Cut Pro X and usually export in H.264 codec.
Is it possible that you're exporting in MP4?
If the image you're capturing is in focus and looks great when editing, but gets downgraded in the export then I'd say something is wrong in your export settings.
I'm going to experiment. I use the same codec, and render Quicktime .mov files on my MacBook.

What about your quality/bitrate settings?

Are you using final cut?
When I'm going for the highest quality I use:
Share: Master File
Format: Video and Audio
Video Codec: H.264

You can use ProResRaw but if you didn't shoot in RAW to begin with I don't see the point. The file size becomes incredibly large and I've never had a problem with the export quality so I don't need it.
The settings I posted have been my go to.
If I'm sending something to instagram or facebook a lot of times I'll just go with 1080p and select export to apple devices and upload an mp4 copy.

Those instagram videos you just posted look very clean.
Are you sure the videos you are having trouble exporting are clear?
Maybe they look clear in the smaller edit window but when you export you see the real quality. (Just an idea. I've had that happen before when I didn't realize something wasn't as sharp as I wanted it until I saw the video in full screen).

Another thing is I spend A LOT of time getting my shots as razor sharp as possible.
I re-do a TON of takes and in post I only use the shots that are super sharp.
A lot of people wouldn't be that strict about it and grab a few shots that might be a little soft, but for me, I like the look of a super clean image.
Cinematic stuff shot in manual mode isn't always that sharp...and that's fine.

I'm using Resolve, but coming I've exported high quality videos before in Premiere and Vegas, and I just feel like the exported files were cleaner when I used those programs, idk. I might have to dig into Resolve's export settings and look up best practices, because with the other stuff I've used, the bitrate slider really made a big difference in file size and image quality, not seeing it do the same with Resolve.

The platforms I'm using also aren't the best options for video quality(mainly just been uploading stuff directly to Facebook or IG), I haven't been exporting many videos in 4K or on my company's Youtube channel or Vimeo. I'm going to start exporting everything in 4K going forward, because most of my footage is shot at 24fps in 4K resolution. I use my A6000 as a secondary cam while I'm doing jobs because my A7III is on my gimbal most of the time, and I get handheld shots with my A6000 (which only goes to 1080p)... which is why I need to get a 2nd cam that shoots in 4K

Went with the GH5 for 4K 60fps at that $2K price point.
Depth of field isn't an issue, low light performance can be but honestly, it's not as bad as some people on the net would have you believe.
With some native prime lenses I found the low light performance to be solid in 95% of situations.
About a month or so I put down about $10k in more equipment to keep the businesses moving forward. Picked up a metabones speed booster that allows me to use canon lenses on the GH5 as well as improves the amount of light I'm getting into the small sensor. Copped a cage with a top handle and side handle. A ninja inferno monitor which gives me the ability to film 10 bit 4K 60fps in ProRes. A sigma 18-35mm art lens and I have a 50-100mm sigma art lens on the way. Copped some new gear for the studio as well (UA Apollo X6, Adams Ax7's and Avantone MixCubes)
I launched my LLC in 2018 and had an amazing first year.
We've already done 10 (training) videos for the Navy, a few realty walk throughs, videos for local businesses, and a few government contractors.
I'm still working my 9-5 but the plan is to limit my hours to part time by the end of 2019 and put my primary focus on my business. I'd love to be doing this 100% full time by next year but I'm patient. If it takes longer I'm cool with that.

A second cam is a game changer.
I forgot to mention that all my videos are done with 2 GH5 cameras. Me and my boy shoot the videos together both on Zhiyun Cranes.
That’s a major factor in how I can pick and choose the sharpest images. I always have a ton of footage from a bunch of different angles.

Do you not have Final Cut at all?
Are you interested in it?
I don’t want to get your hopes up but I think I may still have a cracked copy. I’d have to check my external.

No Final Cut. I jumped into Resolve a few months ago. I think I figured out what to do tho. Just have to render in 4K from now on.

Going to start pushing content on YouTube more frequently as well

Any examples of the video you shoot? I want a legit 4k camera...lol. Been looking at all kind of options..checking multiple YouTube reviews...Canon Mark IV...the mirrorless Nikon...etc.

breh gonna be shooting the next avenger film next:whoo:

Just wondering for like one of those clips how many hours of footage did you shoot to cut down to like 3 minutes, were you like handed a script of what they were doing or did you also have to like direct what to do etc?

And then how long did it take for you to cut down the footage and make it into the final product?
