all i can say is keeping shooting this is why i love this thread look at the beginning of this thread like 6 years ago we were mostly all flabby and sick.

The more you shoot the better you become, keep shooting keep making mistakes keep fixing those mistakes.

Youtube is also great, taught me so much in lightroom/photoshop/camera settings/ f stop etc.

I remember I used to shoot on auto mode jpeg :heh:

Even the lowest grade dslr you buy now is better than what wedding photographers were using 10 years ago so master what you got.

The Photo I posted above I shot with a T5I :heh: and a 24-105mm 4L lens

One thing as well that I learned is I'm done helping out friends in this photography business. I shot a wedding for a couple at my church, brehs I went to the rehearsal and was at the wedding and reception ALL DAY and all I got paid is 300 bucks because they were broke . I gave these folks over 300 pictures professionally done, spent hours and hours editing it and all I get today is can I get more of this and more of that ABEG.

The average wedding photography is like 2,500 here in my city, I learned a hard lesson this week breh

You're always going to run into these situations dealing with people on low budgets.
You either have to accept it, or shift your focus onto clients with bigger budgets.
For some reason it's always the people that are broke that expect the most for the least. It's messed up but it is what it is.
Other people have said the same in this thread and it's been my experience for about 10 years.
I only recently got into video and photography. The bulk of my experience is with music but the attitudes have been the same.
Broke people complain and demand the most, while people with decent budgets are more serious about their craft, know what they want, and more often respect your craft as well.

Breh's I need help. I recently got a DM on my Instagram about a picture of mine an interior designer found. I've never been commissioned for any of my work and I haven't really been taking pictures the last few years due to raising my kids. So I don't know a whole lot about this world. Here is the DM.

HELLO STRANGER! MY NAME IS KIRSTIN AND I AM AN INTERIOR DESIGNER IN SEATTLE. I AM WORKING ON A PROJECT IN CHELAN AND CAME ACROSS YOUR IMAGE OF THE CHELAN BEAUTY WASHINGTON APPLES PHOTO. WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO SELL MY CLIENT A TIFF OF THE FIXED UP COLOR VERSION? I NEED IT TO FILL A LARGE WALL WITH THE FINISHED SIZE BEING APX 72โ€ WIDE (CAN INCLUDE MAT/FRAME). IS THE QUALITY/DPI SUCH THAT I COULD PRINT IT THAT LARGE? PLEASE LET ME KNOW! THANK YOU AND LOVE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY!

I have no problem selling the piece, but the problem is the picture won't look good blown up to 72". I shot it 4 years ago using my iPhone. The place where I shot it is a 3 hour drive from where I live. Would you guys drive 3 hours to take an updated picture? Also how much would you charge for the image?

Here is the image that she wants.

Thanks for any feedback.

I need to find out how to make my pictures sharp using 6500. What settings do I need the camera on to achieve that.
How are you not getting sharp images with the A6500?
:what:

What lenses do you have?

Yup they been plugging with the free version since Davinci 12, if you choose to upgrade to DaVinci studio it unlocks exporting in cinema 4k or higher and editing raw metadata along with all the timeline editing plugins and etc. Very powerful tool with very few setbacks in the free version, if you're debating getting into video editing and are choosing between paying monthly for adobe cc and this, I'd definitely choose Resolve.

Also it's the industry standard color grading package, if you're familiar with grading raw images in photoshop then it's a breeze. Their curves tool is :blessed: status, as is the track masking and keying features. Love their luminosity/RGB meters too, much cleaner than the ones in premiere or after effects.
:wow:

Can't wait to try this... how is sequencing clips/footage in this? Right now, I'm used to Vegas Pro and it's a breeze just piecing the shyt together compared to Premiere, but I feel limited when I go to color grade with Vegas

I have 18mm-135 and the 50mm

I seem to get very sharp images with the 50(potraits and video)

The 18 im having trouble with
You have to learn basic photography elements breh.

I'm assuming you're just picking up your camera, throwing it in Auto Mode and shooting. You have to understand what your camera is capable of depending on the scene/scenario you are in. The A6500 is a powerful camera, and the only way you're not getting "sharp" images is because you're not shooting with the right settings applied.

Understand how ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture work together, and how to adjust each and you will be on your way.

I shot with an A6000 which is 2 gens older than the A6500, so I know what it's capable of doing

If you still have that photo, you good. Most billboards are only 2 megapixels. If people arenโ€™t viewing the image from upclose itโ€™s cool. Also most printing places have software that can upsize a photo.

Iโ€™d only drive to take a photo if they was properly padding my pockets.

Kit zooms tend to not be the sharpest lenses. That being said, like @GoldenGlove said a lot of it depends on your settings, including being 100% sure the subject is actually in focus.
