man I wish the jalexphotos and bubbapphotographer photographers would just tell their rates that they charge lol

I just wanna get a general idea of y’all hat the market is by looking at some of the more well known and knowing not to overcharge

Basically I just wanna see the breakdown with how photos and edits are charged.

One thing I would do that I’ve heard some guys do is for model shoots advertise that you give each girl a free video promo shoot. That would bring the customers in. Plus filming them on IG LIVE...

Honestly just name your price and see where it goes.

Say 300 and if everyone takes it move the price up.... but if no one bites lower it to 250.

My minimum for private shoots is 250

I think the confusion for me is with edits. Like do you include photos and edits for one price?

And then do you charge different prices depending on how many edits? Lol it’s things I gotta figure out

I got a long way to go obviously I may not start this for a year I just wanna go into it not looking too green

Try to link up with a popular photographer in your area or near. I was doing some videos and photography for this local bar/grill by an ocean and there was a guy there that was pretty successful and he gave me all types of game. He says he's too busy now to do it. Even said I could borrow some of his lenses and camera if I wanted. Showed me about 10K-15K worth of lenses. That's how I learned to price.

I'd be interested in seeing what the raw footage looked like that you got, cause the colors still look a bit flat. Not feeling the song, but the cam work was straight tho...

They trying to have that dance go viral or some shyt?

Pricing ultimately comes down to figuring out what YOU are comfortable doing the work for. Not other popular photographers. If you're just starting out, you don't have the clout, experience or exposure to be charging what some big time photographer would charge. That factors in to pricing as well, the bigger your audience is, the more you can factor that into your cost.

Just keep working on your content and finding your style/lane, and perfecting it and improving. Build a portfolio that you can sell yourself with, this is the best way to go if you don't have connections or a big following, you have to put in the work and then let the work speak for itself.

As far as doing free extra stuff like yo mentioned about the promo video. I'd say be mindful with that, because that's added work/time, and it might not be worth it. I'd say go the extra mile as far as making a good impression with clients or potential clients that you know would be a good look to be associated with. You have to gauge that for yourself of course.

Didn't know a photography thread existed on this sub. I've been out the hardware knowledge of the game for 3 ish years now.

Want 2 types of camera's

First Use Case - regular photos (I want a top of the line camera, currently have a older canon gen 5d mark 3, nikon d800 - I'd like a camera around under 1200-2K in that range. I use these cameras for tutorials videos for customers

Second Camera - small compact camera for light taking photos

Another use case - I want a camera that I can use for track days, that is better than a go-pro, go-pro's are great but they are lacking in many ways. I want a small / compact camera that I can use for track days. Someone has suggested I just find a strong mount and just use one of the bigger cameras but I do not want to do that.

I'd like to keep my overall expenses under 5K, It'll be considered a business expense
