:salute:

I want a gh5
That 4k
Full size HDMI

I have a old ass gf2 and it still shoots better videos than both my canons

GH5
Just got it yesterday. My first camera was an SL1. I outgrew it pretty quick, but I wanted to get an introductory camera to see how serious I was about photography and video.
I shot a few music videos, work on editing a few corporate videos for free as experience.
I recently showed the videos to my current employer and they were so impressed that they contracted me separately to shoot and edit a recruitment video for my Human Resources team.
I figured since this is my first real contract gig I should go ahead and get a better camera.

I went with the GH5 for the video capabilities and for budget reasons. I wish I could have gotten the A7Riii or even the A7Rii but I also have a recording studio and I have a few major upgrades/investments coming up that I have to consider.

I'm excited though. I was able to get a lot of use out of the lowly SL1 and really get a solid understanding of photography and videography. This new camera is going to take my work up to another level.

Good shyt. I just bought a little zhiyun smartphone gimbal. Gonna try and dabble with video portraits for my models. It'll be something new for me. Even if its just using my S8 or a decent quality action camera I think I could add it to my services. :manny:

The short story: God blessed me with the right people around me.
The long story: Networking. I have relationships with a few people that have employers who were already interested in video. They reached out to me to help them impress their bosses and I just gave them a hand with what little editing knowledge I had at the time. I just kept things simple and clean. It was enough to impress the right people. I built a small portfolio and pitched the idea of a recruitment video to my current employer. They were so impressed they told me to give them a quote. I submitted my proposal and they immediately approved it. The best part is they are paying me on the side for the video work, but I’m shooting all the video during my regular work hours. I’ll only have to do the editing after my regular schedule.

I’m definitely still an amatuer but I’ve fallen in love with this and have definitely been improving my shots and edits. I’ll share some of my work soon when I get more comfortable with this camera. I appreciate the positivity.

Looking at flashes for my gh5.
I always assumed flashes were pretty standard.
I didn't realize they have different ones for different cameras.
I think I have it narrowed down to this one

Anyone know anything about this brand or have any reccomendations for a panasonic compatible flash?
This one in particular seems to have all the functions I could possibly want for $156

Looks good. I approve. HSS and TTL are pretty much gold for speedlights.
