Can't never get my self portraits to focus right lol. Tried focusing on an object of where I would be standing, tried focusing on the tripod then setting up since it's the same distance.
Try to use spot focusing. And it does take a lot of practice and back & forth checking the camera.

the a6500 is an outstanding camera, and if I had it I would not have upgraded to the a7r III. Yes, the two are said to be in completely different leagues, but the a6500 is far from lacking anything major that would hinder it from capturing the same images as the a7r III. I actually still use my a6000 for filming. I will say that having a full frame camera is pleasing to clients, but that's irrelevant. The biggest benefit I've seen with a Full Frame camera is the ability to naturally capture more crisp photos (the margin of error decreases), this is probably due to the larger sensor's ability to capture more light.

Ultimately the camera doesn't matter, it's purely the photographer. I don't typically share with people which camera I have because it can be discouraging and sometimes disingenuous ... it's people sizing you up. #justgoshoot if the frame is ill camera is irrelevant.
Yeah, I've been contemplating on moving from the A6000 to the A6500 or just saving that bread and moving into the full frame spectrum... still deciding tho.

I haven’t had time to take photos lately, but I have a photo editing question.

I haven’t edited any of my photos yet, but how often do y’all edit your photos (using various softwares like Lightroom, photoshop, etc.)?

Also, if you do, what do you look for when editing photos?

Thanks in advance
Anything that I'm sharing online get's edited or processed in some way.

But idk, the best advice for editing is just to continuously use the software and get familiar with it. The more practice you have the better... sounds cliche, but it's the truth. A poorly edited/processed image ruins everything.

And shoot in RAW format so you have more control over the edits that you're making.

I go through like 2 or 3 phases of culling photos. Just to get down to the few that I really want to edit. As time goes on you'll start to get better at eliminating photos that aren't up to your standard. When I first started I would just save all kinds of mess. Now I try chop and chop and chop down to the best ones. Like there are times where you'll have two similar pictures where a models hand is just placed different on her hip, something that small and you start to learn to picture the better pic and not just waste time editing a pic because it was in focus and sharp. It's just learning to develop an eye for things.

Full frame is worth it if you shoot a lot of landscapes and/or your style involves a lot of shallow DoF... otherwise MFT is much cheaper to the point that you can buy a speedbooster adaptor to bring the crop factor down to APS-C levels and boost your working aperture another full stop. The added bonus w/ the adaptor setup is you don't need to buy MFT lenses. It's not ideal if you depend on autofocus, I shoot mostly video though so idgaf :ehh:

At the end of the day the glass is more important than the camera as far as image quality is concerned.

no contracts up front though?
I've done em before, but for the most part I just give them an invoice with the terms and conditions included... it's got what we agreed to and the pricing right there for them, so it's not confusing.
