Can't never get my self portraits to focus right lol. Tried focusing on an object of where I would be standing, tried focusing on the tripod then setting up since it's the same distance.

j1 aint shyt, just get a fuji or sony

I want to get something within my budget that I'm familiar with. I dig the J5 features since I'm going for a street photography approach without dealing with the bulk. Maybe once I get a good feel of photography, I'll upgrade to a better camera but for right now I just want to get something that's way better than my old point and click lol.

A7R III :whoo:
My next big purchase. So wavvy it is. Dope IG bruh. Story telling through photos is A1:wow:

Thank you, I greatly appreciate that. I purchased the A7R III for film creation and post crop-flexibility, but I also maxed out my Sony a6000, so it was a bit of natural progression.

I'm at the same point. The A6500 is a dope upgrade, but my next camera is going to be full frame... I think

Equipment getting upgraded and moving on from my SL1.
How much do you think I could get for it realistically?
Everything is in excellent condition with all the original boxes and packaging.
Canon SL1 w/ 18 - 55 STM Lens
Canon Lens Hood
Canon Bag
3rd party grip w/ wireless remote and 2 slots for extended battery life
Original Canon battery and charger
(2) 3rd party batteries and charger

My guess is $350 - $400

I haven’t had time to take photos lately, but I have a photo editing question.

I haven’t edited any of my photos yet, but how often do y’all edit your photos (using various softwares like Lightroom, photoshop, etc.)?

Also, if you do, what do you look for when editing photos?

Thanks in advance

the a6500 is an outstanding camera, and if I had it I would not have upgraded to the a7r III. Yes, the two are said to be in completely different leagues, but the a6500 is far from lacking anything major that would hinder it from capturing the same images as the a7r III. I actually still use my a6000 for filming. I will say that having a full frame camera is pleasing to clients, but that's irrelevant. The biggest benefit I've seen with a Full Frame camera is the ability to naturally capture more crisp photos (the margin of error decreases), this is probably due to the larger sensor's ability to capture more light.

Ultimately the camera doesn't matter, it's purely the photographer. I don't typically share with people which camera I have because it can be discouraging and sometimes disingenuous ... it's people sizing you up. #justgoshoot if the frame is ill camera is irrelevant.

It's all about your goal for the photo. How you want it to look and the emotion you want to convey. Also whether it's a landscape or people. Lighting is a big factor typically in how you edit the photo.
