With it being hurricane season, started getting into surf photography. Took these down in a Long Beach (NY, not California)

I’ve had decent results with my canon sl1 as a first camera. With the right lighting and a bit of post work the quality is very good.
I’m looking at upgrading to something with better video options but I’m going back and forth on that decision.
I might get a mavic pro and get a better camera later down the line. Not 100% sure yet.
But for what it’s worth, the SL1 is a decent enough camera to see if photography will hold your interest.
The question is will it be worth it if you end up outgrowing the camera really fast.

Honestly I think I prefer the west side and Desert Shores. The whole area of Palm Springs/Salton Sea/Joshua Tree makes for some real dope photography options. I'm a solo shooter and don't really like shooting people, but you can get some really great photos with models out there.

Yeah im a solo shooter too, havent shot no people but i do have a couple people who want me to shoot them. I recently joined this photography group on facebook & noticed a lot of the photographers come off as pervs just trying to get woman naked to shoot
