next time you out, but the black screen up next to the lens, and move that bytch around. does all kind of reflective shyt. u can use old CD's too. Where you choose to shoot will have impact on how shyt looks. I got a bunch of these jawns printed in a photo journal

Where did I go wrong with the edited version. I like how brought out the craters and the surface but the radius looks like it has an outline and makes it look fake. How would anyone fix this?

Is the RAW file the digital negative (CR2 I think) or the JPG from the card that you haven't edited?

well, you need to change that to the actual raw file. like @shutterguy said, the CR2.
jpegs don't have the same detail as the raw file

Exactly what I was thinking, the actual RAW (CR2 files) can differ quite a bit from jpg of the same shot right out of the camera.

shoot RAW, at bare minimum shoot RAW +jpg

Yep, plus with the price of memory cards being insanely low, you can get a large card to hold both files. I just picked up a 16gb Sandisk Extreme card for $25.

and if you lurk slick deals, u can catch sales on extreme 32 and 64gn cards.
