thanks. ill definitely need a good bag since ill be taking it with me when i bike and on vacation. most definitely will get an extra battery or two. my prime lens came with a uv filter so i think im ok with that. so you think i should get an external flash? im more incline of getting a external mic as i will be making videos as well.

then look into hand held camera rigs, mic, and lightting. skip the lightening if youre only shooting in the day

@Made in 86' since you are up in Alaska you should follow this guy. If you aren't already http://blog.jovellyism.com

Depending on what you want to shoot you probably need a tripod and a wireless remote. Also a good bag is a must. This is the bag I bought.

Lowepro SlingShot 302 AW

:salute: :blessed: I have the Lowepro Slingshot 300 AW, best bag I ever had, holds lenses, 2 bodies, batteries, card storage, and rain cover.

Sup brehs...I'm wondering if a T1i is still relevant these days? I bought one some years ago and it's mostly been sitting around...but I got a little time and I'm planning on picking up the hobby. I got a good amount of blow money so I figured I'd invest in it. What's the best use of about $600 in regards to photography? At the moment I'm looking at the 85mm f1.8 lens or a 580 speedlite flash...but I'm wondering should I invest in a new body or just master the T1i first?

Breh, I still have a 30D as a backup in my bag and its older than the T1i and I was shooting fast action sports and portraits and getting pretty good shots with the glass I had. Use that money you have and invest in lenses and master the camera. You will thank yourself down the road.
