my 1st. was thinking about this one for my 3300 http://www.ritzcamera.com/product/541536314.htm

Get ready for great low light capabilities and tack sharp shots with great image quality. Primes are known for all that. I'm not up on the Nikon mounts, I think the newer lenses should be AF-S type for the newer bodies, I could be wrong tho. Co-worker just bought a Nikon 50mm 1.8, she refuses to put her kit lens back on the camera.

I shoot with a D90 and trying to decide If I wanna go with Flashes or Strobes(Alienbees)
also do ya'll have any recommendations for white backdrops to purchase?
@shutterguy @spinoza

I have both, flashes are more portable then the Bees, unless you by the portable battery pack for them. I have actually considered that see as the Paul Buff packs have come down in price. Flash power the Bees win hands down, if you are doing anything with backdrops as you mentioned I would go with them. For External Camera Flashes keep some rechargeables or power packs handy, and you can get mini-softboxes and umbrellas for them. Overall my Bees are my favorite powered lighting source, If you do get them get some wireless triggers so you don't have to tether the sync cord around.

I used to buy seamless backdrop paper from B&H, lately it's been easier to get them from my local camera store. Brands are usually Superior Seamless or Savage.
