Let me hit on your 2nd point first, didn't they let Pryor finish out the season? They also released Flynn with only Pryor and McGloin on the active roster to give Pryor his shot. Pryor was terrible vs the Giants who were ranked having one of the worst secondary in the league at that time. Their last win of the 2013 season was provided by McGloin against HOU immediately following that Giant game. He torched HOU and if I were Allen and his staff, I'd be hard pressed not to give McGloin as long of a leash as they gave him. But honestly, AFC West was the toughest division in the AFC based on the fact that 3 of the 4 teams made the playoffs.
Your first point, that's basically a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" for McKenzie and Allen. They're criticized for rushing him, for doing what the fans were screaming for, they can't win. I don't see another team giving Pryor the same chance the Raiders did. If he refuses to consider a position change, he could end up like Tebow.
Them letting him finish the season was just to damage him more. The team already gave up at that point and it was reported weeks before that the team stopped playing. So what was the point of putting in Pryor to "Finish the season"? Just to point the finger and say told you so?? It didn't matter the quarterback we were putting in, the locker room was done with the season and so were the fans.
HOU was McGloins, ONLY win and its against HOU who was 2-14. He didnt torch HOU either, he only had 197 passing yards and 3 drives in that game he couldn't move them from their own 20 yard line. That's not exactly caliber quarterback skills either. They both were only options for the Raiders and the coaching staff worked with what they had. AFC West is toughest how? For the last 10 years there has been no pull ahead winner of the division and each winner was decided in the last few weeks of the season. shyt, we even swept the divisions once and we still didnt make the playoffs
Yeah Pryor was terrible against the Giants but McGloin was terrible against DAL, TEN and KC. It didn't matter though cause when it comes down to it, Pryor won more games then McGloin.
Why should Raider fans be lenient on them when other personnel were only given a year and if they didn't turn it around they were gone. What have McKenzie and Allen done that deserves praise??? They cleared cap room? Who fukkin cares, we have had years where we were under the cap and that didnt mean shyt. How many high profile players we had over the years cause we had the room and they tanked over here. Did we make the playoffs?? Its been 2 years and nothing, Hue did alot in that one year and he got us closer then they did, he may not of been the best but fukk it it had results
